You're probably stuck with SeventyOne or the Forklift.

SeventyOne is new, haven't ate there yet, it looks a bit pricey.

The Forklift is only open for lunch and has a bit more limited menu, also pricey.

Or will uphill traffic close for general public the night before an expected shoot?
It's been an increasing shit show for Alta deputies and Snowbird public safety to clear the lots for a shoot.
This should slow things down even more.
I heard the Goldminer's won't have early open doors,
but imagine people can hole up in the Snowbird center.
Where are YOU going to hide?
    Bump.

Sounds like 1am closures for potential highway control measures excepting essential personel.
If parking is the limiting factor in ticket sales one can imagine that people will be lining up at the mouth that much earlier.
The folks that don't want Wasatch Blvd. widened might change their mind after this winter...
Buddy says he is gonna come up the night before and crash in one of the bivy tubes on the south facing slopes across from Snowbird. Says they happen to be placed at the top of some awesome powder runs...

My operative says gen grits and tramcar pizza too

Ate at 71 on employee day before the opened to the public and also did Turkey day there last year. Im not a super refined foodie and thought it was pretty good but spendy. Free barroom shuffleboard just outside the entrance last time I was there and at least go piss in their urinals!

Dirt is alltime right now but I need snow!

Yea I mean I have an AWD minivan with a cleared out back that I crash in all the time. But from what I understand they're super strict about people staying in their cars during interlodge?

Last year I just did the GMD game like everyone else, but guessing thats not gonna be an option this year....

I remember meeting a friend, who was at Utah State, at Alta. We were 19. There was an interlodge and we were stuck. We wound up crashing next to the fireplace at the Peruvian. Best two days of skiing, ever!

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Those bivy tubes are kinda cold and smell like burnt farts, almost like propane. Def easier than digging a snow cave, and yea they're in some great locations! Surprised they're not on AirBnB yet.

    Two things not to forget:
    A spark plug wrench and
No smoking between 6:30 and 7:30 am.

Hope to see you again this winter...

i'm definitely a shill, ikon passholders welcome, locals stay home!

there's a lot that could go wrong between now and the big storms but there's definitely a chance that there will be added value in having a room up canyon this season compared to the past. $300 can lose its meaning when it's 4 pm, dumping, the red snake is huge, you cant stay inside and drink beer and eat pizza unless you're a lodge guest, and you have a day off tomorrow.

El Chanate was low grade dog food, probably the worst Mexican food in slc county. Haven’t tried 71 and likely won’t. But El Chanate was just garbage.

Not surprising to see those protocols in place and I can't disagree with any of them. But, that is gonna make it basically impossible for my wife and I to take turns watching our 2 year old in GMD while the other skis. Oh well, gonna be an interesting season to say the least.

SFB - he grabbed it thanks. Comes in to get the mount and they tell him his soles are out of spec. Needs new inserts. He tells me - huh, my bindings have been a little loose, maybe that's why. Good lord. This is what happens when a 19 yo can't get to the mountains every day and he's out doing urban just to feed the jones - ripped up his boots.

Anyway, hookup was even more helpful now that he's gotta spring for new soles. They found them for him so all good.

Just wanted to send thx again.
