I liked the guy last week. Low key. Buck sounds like he's calling a game.

Yeah, David Faber did a great job. Buck has been exactly like you'd expect him to be.

Buck does have a sense of humor though, which I like, but not the full volume excitement.

i know people like to hate but i like think buck is pretty good. super charismatic and dynamic. i wouldn't mind watching him every night, especially as he settled into the gig...
which is something i cannot say for the new hosts. richards was alright but alright at best. bialik was terrible. neither are aaron rodgers. sounds like lots of people wanted burton which i wouldn't be opposed to.

He's been exactly like you'd expect him to be. I think he's entertaining for a week, but would get a bit tiresome after that.

the turnover of hosts has taken away from the fact that this dude has won 16 games and is the 3rd all time non-tournament earner.

Here's a NYT article about the selection process https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/14/b...-jennings.html

I liked Byalik and wasn't excited about Richards but as the article says maybe that's the point- it really is about the game, not the host- bland and competent perhaps best in the long run (but Sweet Fancy Moses please improve the contestant interviews)

It's not the host's fault if the contestants have done nothing interesting in their lives.

He is one of the worst contestants ever if personality is in the criteria list. James was a bit odd, but had some interesting quirks that I enjoyed. This guy, can't even remember his name, strikes me as an incel.

She will be doing their specials- so sounds like Tournaments, Celebrity Weeks, etc.? Read they were going to try and do some prime time Jeopardy shows also.

    Jeopardy thread- LETITSNOW

I’ve been awol here for awhile but the GIPardy announcement got me wondering about babybears take

I hate hate mike. He’s competent and knows how to run the show, but he basically picked himself and everything else was just window dressing

I still think it was Ken’s turn tobtake the wheel. But if not Ken, both Mayim and David Faber were both better and more appealing hosts

Im glad it wasn’t Levar. I thought he was terrible. But even less pleased w Richards pulling a Dick Cheney for the host gig

There was some segment that I saw about Richards and his previous Exec Producer position controversies. There were a number of lawsuits when he was at The Price Is Right. https://deadline.com/2021/08/jeopard...ch-1234810536/

I think the if harassment issue hadn’t been surfaced, Mayim would not have even been offered the partial role that she got-it’s just a deflection from MRs harassment history

Nearly all the guest hosts did at least as good a job as Mike Richards, so to me it's pretty clear the reason he got the job is he picked himself. He seems like a real weasel based on everything I've read.

The minute his face appeared on the screen the first time and he was introduced as the exec producer, I practically screamed who is this underhanded weasel here trying to pull some kind of dick Cheney pick himself bullshit. I hoped I was wrong but apparently not.

More stories dropping today including a brief interview w Alex mentioning who he would like as successors makes me hope the long knives are truly out for this guy. There’s clearly some disgruntlement behind sources feeding these stories

I’m giving him 50/50 odds for the moment at sticking longterm, but am hoping another shoe drops and gets him dropped too

Apparently taping has started or will start very soon, so if they're going to do something it's got to be immediately.

Not sure why he hasn't gotten more consideration. I thought he was excellent hosting the Tournament of Champions.
