it worked here. The Far Side apparently coming back online in some format that's unclear.

I'm always a bit nervous about things I loved coming back after long hiatuses. I can't think of too many that lived up to their original runs.

    Doubly sweeeet....
I was just thinking of this the other day. My parents got me one of those peel away calendars when I must have been 12 or something. I couldn't remember the name of it and it was bugging the fuck out of me.

The probability of success here seems a lot higher than it is for TV series reboots, band reunions, etc.

Hopefully he's like the Prince of the comic world, and has a treasure trove of unreleased material.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

It’s the unclear part that tempered my enthusiasm.

His comics are not generally available online, so it's unclear if there will be new ones or if the old ones will now be available. Cool either way, though.

God damn I am slow. I looked at that for about 3 seconds before getting it and busting up.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

It was in Pearls Before Swine, by Stephen Pastis., the best strip out there by far currently imo and worthy of a mention in the same sentence as those others. Apparently Bill Watterson agrees.

    this would be amazing
I still have all my old Far Side books- there was also a really good one that came out later "the Prehistory of the Far Side" which had all sorts of anecdotes about the cartoons along the yrs and other funny stuff like when newspapers would get the wording mixed up with the wrong cartoons

I have fond memories of being on acid and camping with my buddy when we were like 20 yo and being in the tent by myself and just crying with laughter reading a far side.
