That's pretty crazy, I just read the wiki. A planned 17-minute display with 7,000 fireworks went up in less than a minute. Yikes. Cool, though.

Ha, went to watch the SD fireworks at a friends last night. He has a cool place with a view of 5-6 different fireworks around the bay. Cool seeing them going off at the same time.

The big boom came up in conversation a few times. Not just cool, but if it all went up at once people could go home and sleep. Curiously SeaWorld's fireworks were scheduled 40 minutes after the rest.

if i were to have done that screw up on purpose, this is about the only thing that i could imagine as a finale for that show...... I would have waited at least 90 seconds for the last of the big shit to die down, then launch this puppy as a single last shot.........while people were still wondering what the fuck just happened.

That video of the 2012 incident is pretty wild but am I the only person who thinks the people cheering from off camera are kind of clueless? There were apparently no injuries but none of them had any way of knowing that at the time. They could have been cheering and laughing about multiple fatalities.

I think they must have thought that was intentional... I would guess after two or three minutes of nothing after the salvo ended they began to wonder if it was, indeed an accident that may have had tragic results..

Hopefully the only tragic result was somebody being soooo fucking fired..
