    Steel structure with wood floors. NYT reports that the firefighters are blaming it for the severity of the fires.

    Limestone also starts getting compromised at around 1000° F and completely disintegrates at around 1700° F

    Isn’t cement made by heating limestone to some temp, and then pulverizing it?

    Christ on a crutch Trump is a moron......From his Twitter account:

    "So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!"

    If he could have worked in a flying buttress joke in there it would have been world class though.

    This would be my guess. Saw a Yellowstone Club mansion go up in flames once because some bozo was welding rebar for the front steps and woops, there went that home. Home stretch on final construction too. Lol.

    Yeah ten or so years ago a MegaMcMansion burned to the ground as, I think a drop cloth or tarp got too close to a work light. Burned in a matter of minutes. It was a ridge top house and the whole Valley got to see it-during rush hour.

    Amazing how fast fire can consume something.

    [inappropriate French surrender joke goes here]
    I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

    Based on what I am seeing on TV, they probably won't.....It's nothing but a firefighter killer at this point.

    Lulz at this being posted in English by French officials. Wonder whom it is directed at? 😂

    “Hundreds of firemen of the Paris Fire Brigade are doing everything they can to bring the terrible #NotreDame fire under control. All means are being used, except for water-bombing aircrafts which, if used, could lead to the collapse of the entire structure of the cathedral.”

    CaCO3(s) + high heat --> CaO(s) + CO2(g)

    So, yeah, significant amounts of the cathedral stone probably going to thermally decompose to quicklime.
