To not further ruffle Z-Bo’s feathers, I’m starting this as a new thread.
we’re going to have a little mini-summit this weekend at mission ridge.
A unique weather pattern is setting up where the driest ski area in the Cascades is going to get more snow that the west slope for once.
Upslope winds up the Columbia river are going to transfer snow around the back of the Cascades to our little island in the desert.
Historically this pattern can make some Utah style blower conditions.
Here’s what happened in a similar pattern: https://www.instagram.com/p/BOxlToeDGyB/
No promises but even a foot of blower at mission will ski deep.
Plan is:
Meet in front of the patrol building at 8:15am each morning.
Try not to get frostbite.
It’s going to be really cold both days, boot gloves and face masks highly advised. Think Northern Rockies cold not Cascades cold.
Those of us who ski the hill a lot will be happy to guide. It’s a tough hill to figure out if you don’t know the spots.
