    XC70 T6 suspension upgrade?

Since it seems like Audi will NEVER send over the cool cars - ie Allroad / diesel A6 wagon etc, im looking at the in laws XC70 T6 with low miles. Im not worried about maintenance as Ive driven audis for a while, so know they take more to maintain)...

However, while fairly fast (Im pretty sure dual turbo), the thing handles like a 2008 dodge caravan.

Based on some of the TGR threads, there seems to be a following here for the volvo wagons. Anyone ever upgrade the suspension on one? The thing seems to have potential, but not as it sits.

What year? Did a quick cursory search on IPD website (portland based Volvo aftermarket/performance stuff) - https://www.ipdusa.com and didn't see anything except maybe swaybars and struts/shocks. But if anyone knows for domestic US availability it's them.

Also Sweedspeed forum has some good stuff- https://forums.swedespeed.com/showth...ns-for-XC70-T6

cool. thx - great sites! also found a great FB page for xc folks.

2012 w 50k miles. I guess the in laws like how it drives, so maybe fit their target market? gonna look into the polestar thing as well.

I have an 09 XC70 T6 and the suspension is too soft for my taste. Much different than on my 08 V50 T5 which it replaced. Post what you find please! Swedish Motors in Boulder may have good info, FYI.

I have a 2015.5 XC70 T6 with factory 18” wheels. I had the Polestar chip/tune done on it, and an IPD sway bay. I’ve got about 60k miles on it and enjoy it a lot as my daily ride, and mine has had no issues at all. An older car with smaller wheels ( 16” or 17” ? ) will have too much sidewall and slosh around. The IPD sway bar helped with roll and well worth the price IMO. Check out a forum called Swedespeed for Volvo chat.

great info on that forum! didnt know you can get them flashed after the fact. it's got the 18s, and decent tires...will investigate the sway bars, as others have also mentioned.

I had my Polestar tune done when I bought my XC70 new back in late 2015. My dealer tells me if I ever sell my car, I can transfer the Polestar tune to my next Volvo, whatever model I choose.

The XC70 occupied a unique space. The XC90/V90 is far too big for my liking. The new V60 looks great, bigger than the previous V60, but still a bit smaller than the XC70. Dont' know what I will do next for a daily driver. I've always been a wagon guy, not an SUV guy.

FYI: On a whim a couple months ago, I tested a lightly used 2016 Porsche Panamera GTS with 440hp of v8 muscle, followed by a Mercedes E63 S AMG wagon -> 600+ ponies, and 630+ torque of turbo'd v8 muscle. In the summer at some other free car testing opportunity, I even drove the 2019 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid with 700+ hp. That Mercedes wagon was the most exhilarating car I've ever driven and a few HOLY-SH*T moments when I stepped on the loud pedal ! But, back to my XC70 and cars in that $$$ snack bracket.

Be glad, they are an utter pain in the arse to work on the A6, pretty much any engine job means removing the whole front end.

The smaller Audi A4 based 4x4 Skodas are what you want. My OH has the latest generation 4x4 Estate and its pretty unstoppable with winter tyres on. Hell it holds the road so well it even gives my race car a run for its money on the open road in the dry.
