Cord rippers that also have loose tips and tails often read as dumbed-down versions of their legit, parent skis. Yes, the LP One O Five was always too much for me, simply because I'm a smaller dude. Not many customers fit the demographic of being small rippers. FiveEight OneFifty. I'm always between sizes in flex patterns from Euro brands. Currently interested in the Heritage lineup, as well as Dynastar's MPro lineup. Am more leaning towards Marshal's designs as I love what I own from him so far.Curious what the Tahoe (and west coast) crew thinks of this perspective. Culture/mountain landscape do actually contribute to ski design, imo.
Skied the 92s as my primary ski here on the east coast all season. It replaced a Ranger 94FR. Much more planted than that ski, the 92 is quite composed at speed especially in a little chop. Carving performance is better than the 94FR, for sure—better edge hold, but not as much pop turn to turn. It cannot replace my 65mm beer league race ski, though, for sure. But for how approachable it feels, it carves nicely. Feels longer radius than stated, imo.

I also have an older enforcer 100, and I feel like that ski is a better comparison than the 94FR. The 92 feels a lot quicker obviously, and has better edge hold, and is slightly more punishing if you get back. But both skis can rail turns at speed and then are easily released in tight spots.

I think the 92 could be a great ski for groomers with some off trail. Most of my days are off trail using the groomers for transit. A slightly softer ski with really great damping and a longer rocker profile tend to work in that slot for my application. I have full dedicated carvers for when off trail is not an option. They make ice fun.

    Ghost trains available again

Moment announced another run of Ghost Trains. After resisting the temptation on the first run, their marketing email got me this time. I am in for a pair of 194s. Going to put the purple CAST bindings on.

moment doesnt advise against different mount points, there are even markings on the ski for -2 to +2. If you chat with them they will say go wherever you feel best. Its the zealots on this thread that say never to change from recommended! My DWT are -.5 and Im going further back for my new bindings

looking at the frankenski for hardpack (i like jib skis, dont worry)
havent heard much on the OG which makes sense considering this forum likes stiffer skis

yes, but its got to ski a bit differently than the current wildcat due to rocker/camber profile and flex

Just ordered Ghost Train 186s. Can't remember the last time I paid retail for a pair of skis.I was bummed I missed them earlier this winter and had severe FOMO they wouldn't come up again until 2030.To wicked a combination to fight opening up the wallet.

Solid fucking run. Theres a reason why their freeride athletes are grabbing the Countach.

Thanks for the heads up! I called up and switched my order. Will get the skis here a few weeks sooner. Hopefully the blem does not overly diminish the sweet graphics on these. I have had good luck with moment blems in the past.

so the profile of the OG is the same as the original 186 Bibby. That's why it's called the og. The larger size Bibby was a profile similar to the Wildcat. The original bibbys had two different profiles depending on the length. The 186 profile that the og is based off of went bye bye early on and they kept the rocker camber profile of the longer length.

the og is a very soft powder dedicated ski. This is how max described them to me.

"I would only take a pair out if it was fresh pow with free refills happening throughout the day. If it got really chopped up I'd run back to the car to swap out skis.

Skiing with any speed through chop and crud and they will get deflected fairly easily by any dense snow.

They require a very neutral stance and will not just cruise up and over shitty snow.

My ideal use case for them would be:
    A) fresh deep pow all day when I want to ski playfully, not fast and chargy
    B) fresh pow but terrible visibility, where I'll be skiing slow anyways and probably on less consequential terrain"

shoukd be minor ideally. All my blems have had either nothing I could find or something super minor that made absolutely no difference. The graphic blems just seem to be slightly different color hues.

I couldnt find anything on my DW104 blems other than maybe the crow not lining up perfectly between the left and right ski and Im not even sure thats the blemish. Id buy blems for every ski if I could.

Palisades Tahoe athlete. Lily crushed it.

I skied my CT at Palisades today. It is a pretty rad freeride ski.

Is everyone sizing similar for the Meridian and CB? I felt really comfortable on the 186 CB (could have gone 193 if I wanted more big mountain application) and, due to that, am thinking the 187 is going to feel just right.

What size DW104 are people skiing? I’m about 6 feet 190 lbs. Lots of tech skiing often in tight places but I think the 104s will mostly be used on open runs early and late season. They will likely see a decent amount of bumps but not a ton of tight trees. I ski fast but not 25 y/o no tomorrow fast. I tend to put a lot of force into an edge and ride it when I’m in the open.

    I went 190cm when I just picked up a pair. Seem right? I like my 190 DW112s.

6 foot, 160lbs. I am on 184 for the 104 and 112. I could easily go 190, but the 184 gets it done at my weight unless I am charging. I grabbed the 188 Countach for the chrargy days. It is a great combo.

Moment Skis are known for being tough and high-performing, though some folks say the sidewalls can crack after a lot of use.

If does skiing while it's snowing gives you more joy, you might consider a japanese name meaning snow for your next baby.
