Coming from a park background and the Deathwish being my first adult ski purchase i decided I need to mount as far forward as they recommend. So I went +2 and boy did those skis rip you into a turn when I engaged the side cut. Felt like the ski had a mind of its own.

Remounted at rec and fell in love. These are all for alpine bindings.

I have a dedicated DW/outlaw setup and it’s at rec and has taken my tele quiver to a skin of one.

    **tldr**
Can strongly recommend not going forward of the rec line, maybe back if you’re a very directional skier. If you want to move the mount around outside of what is tried and true then you’re probably looking at the wrong ski.

I’m assuming the same applies to the dw104? I usually like mounts around -4 and dw104 is at -6 so a little farther back but not much. Planning on going with the line unless recommended otherwise

I can’t comment on the 104. But I’m sure it would be similar.

Finally enough snow to feel good about taking the new DWT and Moment Voyager XIIs out. And man the Voyager is a upgrade over my previous setup of DWT & ION LT for sure. Lighter on the up. More solid and powerful on the down. Couldn't be happier.

I mounted that exact setup last night in preparation for a walk today, but bailed due to rain and increased avy danger. It killed me! Glad you love em!

Got the GTs out on some snow this weekend. Didn't get to make a lot of turns but dang am I excited for a real day out with these. Leave it to me to spend my first day on snow touring on new powder skis, coulda been a disaster but they pretty accommodating to my newborn giraffe-like skiing

I totally agree except when it comes to Moments... I go to the factory and they mount and give me a beer (or three) while I wait (thanks Gunnar!).

I was suppose to be in Tahoe that week at moment. They’ve mounted all of mine. Had to cancel because of the weather so needed them mounted for my Breck trip right now.

First day on the Countachs. Initial impressions:

    Length: 188
    Skier: 6'2 #205
Skied: Moment DW104, WC108, Mfree108, K2Mindbender, Navis FB, ON3P BG, Mantra M5, solly Blank, rossignol SenderTi
Likes: Directional, little loose, good dampening
    Hates: Noodles with progressive mounts

Conditions: Icy refrozen hardpack and coral reef, pockets of granular soft

So these things are -exactly- as advertised. Like a more directional WC108, which I guess should be obvious, and less ski than a Commander, also obvious. They like being driven, but aren't demanding. They initiate a turn well, but not telepathically like the DW104. Good energy, not huge on dampening. Like if you ski other Moments, and you got on these things blindfolded, the flex and feel is totally on-brand. They feel like Moments, what ever that means. Edge hold is acceptable to good and, I'll note, a big step up vs the Mfree108. Conversely, they aren't as quick and pivot-friendly as the Mfrees. The Mfree will vibe with a neutral or forward stance and find a quick slashy line almost on their own, while the Countach really comes alive with at least a modestly active pilot. Keywords here are precision and user input.

Bottom line, a very well-balanced ski. We'll see what happens when I get them on soft (if it ever snows again), but as it stands I can see these replacing at least two skis currently in the quiver.
I'll update this as I get them out in more conditions.

    nice thoughts on the Countachs

for those who struggles with pics turning 90 degrees when uploading - just slightly edit / crop the picture before uploading and they will upload right side up. More pics is more better

Thanks! How's the damping compared to the MFree? That's my one complaint on the MFree was that if things set up /bump up, the speed limit dropped significantly. I have Commanders and like them but miss some of the pivot/slash/intuituveness of the MFree. Hoping the Countach is a good middle ground for the PNW.

Would love to see a comparision of Countach 188 and current Woodsman 108 in 186. Or Woodsman 110. I feel like the Woodsman is gonna be the slightly looser more damp Countach. But the Countach will be more precise with more edge bite. Not necessarily something I care too much about in a 110 waisted ski.

Definitely a step down in dampening, but still alright. Didn't go looking for a speed limit but it felt composed still in the 40ish mph range. I could def see it as a DD for me, and if I'm skiing ice and refrozen garbage I've kind of come to the conclusion that metal is in order anyway. It's like a slightly less pivoty, more energetic Mfree with better edge hold. Like in steep chalk I think I'd much rather be on Countach over Mfree. It's the 6" over soft and under days that I'm most curious about...

Oops, left out the woodsman 108 I used to have. I don't know about recent tweaks, but ON3P cores take dampness to 11 at the expensive of rebound energy. I ultimately passed mine on bc they smoothed out the mountain maybe a little too much. I still think about those...anyway, Countach is def a couple notches more lively and rewarding coming out of turns.

this makes the Countach sound fuckin amazing. Might be sending my 189 hotshots back for these. I just don’t want to lose easy ability to pivot and slide around from a centered stance even in firmer conditions.

Are there any skin tip connectors that fit better than others on the more squared off tips of the DWT? New skis to me and I am in need of some skins. I was looking at both Pomoca and countour currently but unsure about the tip bails.

    Thanks in advance!

Pomocas work fine, usually the larger one of the two in the package are what I go with.

Nice review... I'm similarly sized and concur with your comparisons. The MFrees just weren't versatile enough to grab me for this width. BTW, the CT soft snow performance is surprisingly good, enough to (possibly) supplant my DWs as the ultimate "not sure what you'll get travel" ski".

Wondering if anyone has been on the Sender Free 110 and the Countach. Countach sounded just what I wanted which was a stronger tailed Wildcat 108 and the Sender free sounded like the other side of the same coin.

Blister seemed to agree and be slightly more stoked on the Sender because it was heavier and dealt with chop better but liked the Countach as a more versatile ski as it featured more in the smaller quiver selections.

I've been on both but in pretty different conditions. Countach felt more comfortable to me, I value nimbleness over stability though which the Countach had the nimbleness+stability. SF110s felt a little too damp to me, but I really didn't get to use them on more than some meh groomers.
