Anyone been on the MSP 99 and W101?

On fresh days or even leftovers I’m usually on my DW. Bought the MSP99 last season for groomers and dry spells (which thankfully never really happened) and it kind of felt a little dead and uninspiring. Hoping for a ride that is faster edge to edge than the DW and has a little bit of a backbone while still having some playful characteristics.

Anyone holding a 15x Carson, hot mess, or sierra? Looking for the grom.

The MSP is much softer than the WC 101. Mounts and rocker are also pretty different. I would venture to guess the 101 has a higher speed limit where the msp is probably a better “carver”. 101 would probably be quite a bit more poppy and fun with the camber and flex profile while the rocker keeps it plenty loose.

Countachs just showed up on the doorstep.
    Side-by-side comparisons with WC108:
Rocker obviously less prominent, moreso in the tail, seems like the front rocker liners not as deep
Hand flexing shovel and mid body feels maybe a touch stiffer, behind heel piece and tails definitely not as stiff as I expected from the product copy...

Comparison with Mfrees: I'm gonna say it: These two are very, very, very similar. Slightly more prominent rocker/splay in the Mfrees, but Countach definitely has a longer EE. Hard to gauge weight or flex on mounted boards with a few seasons of riding vs fresh out of plastic, but if you've already got a pair in the quiver I'd think long and hard before switching it up. I think for me the winner is going to come down to edge tune and character. My prediction based on apparent tune and EE is that the Countach is going to prioritize edge hold and precision and less of that loose, pivot-friendly character that makes Mfrees such a fan favorite.

I'm glad there aren't any Commander 98s in a 188. Not so I could resist. The Commander 108s are awesome, though. They charge hard, but not as burly as the add copy would suggest. A true all mountain charger. I think there's a lot of people on this board who would really like them if they gave them a shot.

196 Wildcats for that price is a boatload of ski for the money. If I didn't grab 196 Bodacious at the end of last season, I'd be all over those.

I hope someone compares the 196 to Sender Squad this season.

I gave in. Getting ready for a low tide season with DW 104. $540 shipped isn’t bad.

Nice score! I haven't skied either, but I think I'd go with the 104 DW over the 112. I like how it's designed to drive the shovels a bit more, and it seems like a "wide" ski designed for low tide, but then still plenty wide for all but the deepest days.

I got the dw104 for low tide and have found them to excel in the position.

    Good eye...

You may be missing another element in the image that will tell more of the story.
