Update: my new mount ended up at about -0.7 cm on the WC108s. And I honestly couldn't tell a difference. New boots were making too much of a difference to feel anything with the mounting point. But man I love these skis. Still need to get the big cats re-mounted but I assume it'll be about the same.
got out on my DW 104 today, east coast nice snow, mostly man made and machine packed groomers, some pretty firm stuff but no real glare ice. Skis are mounted -1.
Took it easy on the first run to try and get familiar with the ski, and quickly was just skiing. I was hoping for a good all around ski, and so far I'm happy. They were comfortable on big sweeping fast turns, and quickly shutting it down almost effortless to switch to slower slalom turns. Edge grip was there when wanted, and disappeared when not. It definitely did not feel like a 104 ski edge to edge. The mount point was spot on, they just felt right. Hopefully will feel the same after some of the coming storm laps.
Bought last year skied maybe 8 times and now they are to small for our daughter
Bella 152cm looking to sell or trade for a 162cm Bella. Skis are mounted with Look Pivots I can remove bindings or keep them on. Boot sole length 266mm.
Got a few days on my new DWs, they’ve been an absolute blast in resort. However, it’s really underscores that’s something is out of whack on the DWTs I got in February.
The resort DW’s feel smooth and predictable, pretty intuitive and easy, even on ice - the DWTs feel great in soft snow but an absolute challenge to link up smoothly on hardpack / ice / chalk.
Took them in to my local tuning shop in Whistler and it looks like they might be a bit edge high after all. Stoked to get them back this week and carry over the resort performance I’ve been enjoying.
As far as mobbing through chop goes... does the WC108 hold up to the (great) reputation of the big WC?

That looks amazing!

I'm wondering if the wildcats fit the description of playful/slashy/easy turns like bc120s but damp and good with chopped pow like the Billy goat?
Yes
After alot of weather delay my Commander 98s were finally delivered yesterday. It didnt snow last night so groomers were fast and firm, and off-piste was a mix of light 6in chop, a few patches of untracked, and a lot of edgeable hardpack; basically the exact conditions I got these for.
I'm no ski reviewer, so will just say I was really happy with the performance for the limited time I had today, and found the groomer and hardpack performance particularly impressive. They definitely rip when you can get up to speed, but I guess I'm heavy enough to make them bend at lower speeds so they were still fun at a more moderate pace. Its nice to have an enjoyable option for days that arent just lapping untracked and these seem to fit the bill, so really looking forward to them when things are a tad softer.
WCs or CBs? I only ask cause I have already read everything about em and I overthink things. Or...Talk me out of CBs into WCs
I had some CB 193s for a season, and decided to sell them and just use my Wildcat (Bibby) 190s. CBs are stiff and have a long radius. Got them out for a Heli day in Wyoming, and they are VERY good for big fast pow turns, but IMO not that versatile after that. I found when things got choppy the stiff flex made them too punishing, and was fighting the longer radius to get them to make smaller turns. Maybe the 186 would have been better, but I dont want a ski like that to be that short.
Its a rad ski, but very specific. It also has one of (if not the best) top sheet ever made.
Anyone wanna play the fun game of “What’s your top three favorite Bibby/Wildcat graphics?” I’ll start…
1) 15/16 Bibby’s
2) 12/13 Bibby’s
3) 20/21 Wildcat’s
