    Re-sole hiking boots

Last weekend I pulled out a formerly loved yet much neglected pair of boots. They have been through a couple of basement floods since the last time I wore them, and apparently the exposure to moisture and lack of follow-up care or drying completely deteriorated the connection between boot and sole.

Is this fixable, or are they trash? If a new sole is possible I really do like the fit of the boots, and condition of the uppers is just fine.

you could use either aquaseal or a solvent based contact cement

for AQS you gotta figure out how to clamp it while cures overnight, just coat either surface and clamp

for C-cement coat both sides and let dry for a few hrs, recoat and let dry until not tacky say 20min, put them together and they will stick on contact

I doubt anyone would take on resoling those boots or would stock the materials to do so (if they exist). That boot is constructed sorta like a running shoe.

More robust hiking and mountaineering boots with glued molded soles can sometimes be resoled with Vibram Bifida or Vertige similar replacement soles, although IME it usually not worth it.
