    Acme coyote hunting

You really don’t want your dog chasing a luring female in heat (if your dog is an intact male)

Motion detectors, people are me use them for bears, they have the motion detector trigger a radio dialed to am talk radio. The kind of station with loud and annoying voices. Apparently it works well for black bear. I don’t know if the coyotes around me with give a shit.

In all my years bird hunting I only have had one dog get caught in a trap. Thank god it wasn't an M44.

Trying to release a 100 lb. pissed off lab from a leg hold trap is something I don't ever wanna do again. Total fucking goat rodeo.
I don't know where you are hunting, but in the Great Lakes States when hunting for grouse it is not uncommon to come accross both leg traps and conibear traps. I know of several dogs and have hunted with mulitple dogs that have been caught or killed in traps. This fall I came across two conibear traps and two years ago my brother-in-law's GWP was caught in a leg trap. My father's brittany almost died in a 160 conibear trap and a few years ago I came across multiple 220 conibear traps in a grouse and woodcock management area.

I've never came across a M44 type trap as those are illegal around here though a couple years ago a landowner was busted for laying out poison for his supposed predator problem.

I had raccoons coming through my dog door to destroy the bags of dog food in my garage.
Heavy metal did not stop them, religious talk radio did.

I did that, I'm allowed to have 4 laying hens in town. Within about a week of moving in I heard my hens freaking out in the night, a flashlight off the deck revealed a raccoon in the chicken yard. I couldn't very well pull out the 30.06 or 10/22 so I released the hounds. The neighbors didn't appreciate that.

    Acme coyote hunting

We’ve got a coyote problem here in the middle of the city. Quite a few pets have gone missing.
But people didn’t take kindly to me setting up my 5.56mm on a tripod with night vision scope...

Here's some general information that your city could adopt and use to educate the public.

We have a lot of coyotes, raccoons, and deer here in B'ham, but in my hood your cat is more likely to be picked-off by an eagle.

Ya we lost several over the years to raccoons here in town. Only sure fire way to keep the shitheads out of the hens was to shut the ladies in a bomber coop with a complicated latch at night. The 360 degree fenced in run was not enough. Nor was the caged inner pen with metal roof strong enough. Solid 1/2" plywood was the answer. I can't shoot the fuckers in city limits. And it's not their fault I had tastey birds in a pen just sitting there.

They’ve already got a website dedicated to that I believe.

They funniest was listening to the city slickers on our neighborhood email list, talking about how ‘we’ have encroached on the coyotes habitat....lulz.

I responded with, “bitch, they’re weren’t any coyotes in this state until the fucking 1980’s”....
But I wasn’t quite so harsh.

Coyotes are howling up a storm tonight and they've got every dog within hearing distance singing along.

Neighbor down the road has a Basset with a throaty bay. Always cracks me up when he gets going.

Take a look at air rifles. I have taken deer with a .25.

Well that's unethical and probably illegal.

Way to make a bad name for hunters and other firearms owners.

The .357 and .45 air rifles are legal though. The problem is the sound like a .45 also

steepconcrete posted that it was with a 0.25 air rifle. Not one of those others.

Has nobody mentioned an electric shock wire? Years ago my parents had a dog that was a regular Houdini. We installed a shock wire around nose level where she was digging to get under. She got zapped a total of twice and never went near the fence again. Seems like you could do the same thing with the coyotes.

FWIW - we have more coyotes in urban Long Beach than we ever did up in very rural No Cal foothills where I grew up.

Well a air gun isn't a firearm... So... Yeah...

I guess he is giving BB gun owners a bad name?

Hold the barrel INSIDE the window, sound will be considerably muffled. Just wear hearing protection and don't do it when the old lady is around, they don't appreciate it.
