Maybe creepy to some, but seems like their numbers are down and i wouldn't want to kill them.

Bat's are serial killers of mosquitos and other annoying insects. Let them live, somewhere else.

Yeah don't kill them, they're super useful animals and many species are in trouble. Watch at twilight and you'll see where they are going out. Then wait until late and go plug it.

Pretty much. Dusk any evening or hire someone. I wouldn't fuck with those things. Rabies and shit.

If in a home might try animal control.

    How many?

Bats are cool and I wouldn’t kill them unless absolutely necessary.

This time of year, I would think they’d be departing for greener and buggier pastures.

What the fuck is it with TGR and bats? I’ve been putting bat houses all over my property trying to get them to come live near me.

Don't. Bats are cool. And are an important part of the ecosystem.

I suppose if you can plug a bat with a BB, I might have to bow out of the BBIathlon. I cannot do that.

I had a big Siamese cat that caught a coupla bats and brought 'em into my studio apt. with 20 ft. cathedral ceilings. They just hung out up high like they found a better cave. Finally I threw some pillows at 'em and then wacked it (the first one) with a tennis racket. Not too hard, but then what? Grabbed a blanket, threw it over the bat, took it outside and flicked it out; flew away. Next time I just threw the blanket at it and got it. Damn cat was a menace. Owl or coyote got him. RIP Stonewall.

Had a neighbor asking the same question on a community forum. Turns out that bats are protected around here and killing them or intentionally causing them harm is illegal. They had to either leave them alone or hire a professional to humanely trap them and relocate them.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

I thought it might have been an acronym for "Bad Ass Transvestites" or the like.

    Flyswatter.

After you kill it save it and take it to the health department to have it tested for rabies. Especially if It has been in your house or you think it might have touched you, scratched you or deposited any mucus on you. Far cheaper to get it tested then to go through the vaccine process because you did not save the bat(s) you killed.

You're talking about bats. This thread is about bat's [possession of bat omitted].

Killing bats is depraved. They are cool animals.
