You guys are getting worked up. Yeah, it's a way to sidestep the rules, but it's a legal one. They are in Utah. Based on the class system 1/2/3. As long as the bike's controller is set to limit to the allowed classes, or the bike does not have more than a 50cc gas assist engine, it's a bike in Utah - as long as it has pedals. Gotta figure they'll close the loophole at some point, but that point is not now, according to my phone call with the DMV. And, btw, if you guys don't think these things are on campuses all over the country you are fooling yourselves.
We will see how it goes. I'm pretty worried about it getting stolen, honestly. Healthy business in swiping bikes and mopeds in SLC.
