    I’m not sailing these days

I’ve got some men’s XL foulies I’ll pass on
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

What's your height/weight/build? I probably need large but every brand fits different.

The Ocean Race stops is in Newport, RI right now. If I was there I'd definitely go check it out.

Saw it when it was the Volvo Ocean Race back in the day in Annapolis and it was pretty sweet.
I still call it The Jake.

    Pretty ship for sure. Enjoy!

I put the name on the latest addition to the fleet this week. Had to overrule the kids who chose Deez Knots. Our 14 YO daughter races this boat with a friend and couldn't send them out in good conscience. This was their second choice.

Best of All Time, like GOAT but B. Kids thought of it.

And yes, have taken her for a twirl and she's not as squirrley as the lazer she replaced but you can crank on her and she'll get up there and make this old dude pay in the shin dept.

They'll have a deez knots someday (it's inevitable), but maybe their next racer and our son instead. He's racing Feva this year and I can't find one that makes sense to buy in the northeast. Will wait until the next class.

They've come up with good names so far:

And I know this is the sailing thread but the power boats are not poorly named either...

I might be mistaken, but that looks like an FJ?

I raced a couple regattas in them as a junior, mostly 420s and lasers though. I felt bad for my crew. Those boats destroy shins .

    'Deez Knots' is funny!

Under 'board name checks out', I kinda have a Hobie Cat habit. Hobies have taken me to a bunch of places - All over the southwest, California, Texas, Delaware, Florida, Mexico, Canada, Fiji. This last fall I went to the Hobie 16 Worlds in Costa Brava, Spain, where the factory provides 50 identical boats, and competitors change boats every race. Probably 20 languages spoken at the event - But everybody spoke Hobie Cat. Super awesome!

Very cool. Just picked up a Hobie for the club. One boat I’ve never sailed. Looking forward to it.

They are their own special animal to tune and sail. Way more interesting to tack! Reach out if you have any questions. T

So cool! Hobbie 16 is a super fun boat to race . Very interesting to roll tack. Great crashes in heavy air when burying a hull... landing up by the numbers and laughing to tell the tale.

    That’s cool Hobie!

I grew up sailing Hobie#8055 in the 70’s.

I was just down in Pine Cay Turks and Caicos and got back one for the first time in a long while.

Oldest boy has qualified for regional sailing championships that last two years. When he moves up a class, that boat name is his for sure. Just couldn't for his older sister. Call me old fashioned. She's thrilled with her boat name, so that works.

If you’re planning to sail off the Iberian coast anytime soon, best bring your orca repellent…

Tried Laser for the first time ever on vacation last week. Definitely fun and definitely different experience than Hobby catamarans.

Helped my friend move his Peterson 34 from winter storage up to his mooring this morning. Sadly, Lake Champlain was glass and we had to motor the whole way. On the plus side, he made me the helmsman for the whole trip so he could hang out with his daughter. Cool and gray to start but the sun came out for our last 30 minutes. Good to be out on the water again.

Did you race? I coached the American racers, Ben Brown and Casey Astiz, in college. Not in the Hobie, then Ben was clearly proficient before college and took me out in his boat once in Santa Cruz.

Oh, that's awesome, Ben is a great sailor, his family is super cool also. He is a west coast guy, I've sailed with with him a lot. Rarely finish in front of him, probably the best young Hobie guy in the country.
