Quick one, since we're on the topic ...

The website has the CD 104 mounting at -10 and the CD 114 at -8.

Just checking to confirm the accuracy as I would have guessed they would mount at the same point.

No need to describe the design rationale ... I just wanted to confirm ;-)

Yup, correct.

Reason is simple, the 104 has a been designed with a chopped-off tail relative to the 114. -10 and -8 are on the same spot relative to sidecut and camber.

I think we´ll move to a slightly different solution for the coming lines, more or less like we did with the TD´s this year. It makes for an extra step of measuring before mounting, but I think it´ll be worth it as this can be printed directly on the topsheet, and saves on labor and time without the pretense of being exact.

yeah - that sounds pretty fool proof. Being direct sales instructions need to be pretty much fool proof, so that idiots like me don't mess it up and then go bitching and moaning about the skis skiing like shit - when in fact it is an user error. So a good solution - like the one outlined above - is pretty much fool proof, hopefully.

Any method has its issues, and currently, mounting marks are added to the topsheet after the skis have been finished. We wanted to do it this way in order to make it user friendly (mount here, single line, in theory correctly placed), but there seems to be no way to get it right every time.

Not sure if you're uncomfortable finding the center. If that's the case, then do this:

• Measure straight line distance from tip to tail. Let's say you get 176cm for a pair of 177s.
• Mark the midpoint by measuring straight line from tip (176/2=88)
• Double-check the midpoint by measuring 88 from the tail.
• There's likely a small discrepancy, and if you're OCD, split the difference between your two "midpoints". Otherwise, use either of the above for your midpoint.
• Go back 11cm from the midpoint you established to locate the center of boot mounting point.

I can get the numbers up tomorrow. We measure from true center unpressed, so there's a little deviation from Thoms method.
