No poo method? Anyone cut back on poo?

Years ago, a ski friend shared the evils of daily shampoo. I thought he was just a dirty hippy.

A few years ago, the interweb tricked me into reading similar info.
So I cut back. Just a pea size drop of poo. Previously, if I did not feel enough lather I washed my hair twice.
After a pea of poo for a while, I tried just water (unless my hair was really dirty or greasy, as needed).

Now I poo once or twice a week at most. Don’t even wet my hair most days. Once you stop stripping the oils from your hair, your body stops pumping out oil.

Amazing how Madison Avenue sells you on shit your body does not need.

If only I could find an antiperspirant alternative. Hate aluminum but the granola deodorant does not work for my stinky pits.
Any pit juice recommendations out there?

I shower once or twice a week. I'm lucky if I can find the shampoo. Ain't no problem. I smell like flour (and yeast).

Now that I work from home I've gone full dirtbag. Haven't had a haircut since July, shower maybe twice a week, shave once a month. Wife is still sleeping with me, for now at least.

No soap on the face unless I get greased by an animal or an auto, and only a small amount of shampoo on the hair around every 10days. I'm a longhair with a full beard; just a rinse in most cases is sufficient for daily cleanse. Never had acne issues so that's not a factor.
That said, regular hand washing with soap and water is akin to religion in this house.

OP, go old school Old Spice deodorant. Not antiperspirant.

Agreed on no antiperspirant. Check out Schmidts Deodorant. I use the stick when I'm in a hurry but the beeswax can stain clothes. I use the jar stuff otherwise and I love it.

Also cutting back on poo hardcore but haven't found a system I love yet.

After they quite paying me to cut my hair I didn't cut it for 5 years but it went to dreads and every day was a bad hair day so I'm over that phase and I like it short

I did cut back on using shampoo every day becuz it gives me dry scalp so shampooing less for sure maybe every other day or 2

you could also try Baby Shampoo its pretty benign stuff, I use it to wash my eyes

Haven't used shampoo/conditioner for a decade except when I need to detangle a big snarl. Hair is far healthier and more lush. It's greasy for the first week or two until you adjust to not stripping the oil out with every shower. Saves time, too. Just rinse and detangle. (if your hair is long enough to tangle up)

I don't soap my face, either, unless I need to remove sunscreen or stains. Skin is much improved. Same drill, it's greasy for a few days but after that it's much healthier.

Some people go completely no-soap, but I'm unwilling to stop washing my butt and junk and feet and such.

I was pulled full on into the no-poo camp years ago by a now ex girlfriend. Full on granola crunching duo we were, making baking soda deodorant and apple cider vinegar hair rinses. I think at one point I went 3 or 4 years without using true-poo. Life has a way of making you want to smell more floral though, so now I probably use it every 10 days or so with just water rinses in between. Also, I no longer make my own deodorant.

Primal Pit Paste will fix those pits up, so far it is the only natural deodorant that has kept smell at bay for me.

You're not supposed to wash your hair everyday. Don't we all learn this as children?

Yeah this isnt some crunchy hippy practice, its just better for your hair and makes it look better. I'm a full on corporate monkey so this certainly doesnt have to go hand in hand with being a wook.

Isn’t that the fucked up part?
Strip the oils, then add them back?
Madison Avenue for the win. Or lose?
