Ah, missed those thanks. But I'm looking for a 130. What's the difference between a Pantera and a Krypton? Never heard of the Pantera. Has a walk mood and is lighter? Can't tell if it has forward lean adjustment.

OK, maybe I need to go to a shop and ask all this, ha.

I think the only diff between the 130 and the 120 is the tongue, no?

You should probably go into a shop. They will (may?) know all the answers to these questions...

Nice! I could swap my old one. And who knows if I'm a 130 skier anymore, ha. 120 might be plenty. Thanks.

You can always add a Booster strap if things aren't GNAR enough for you.

The Panterra is a weird little not-quite-a-Krypton. Retains the Krypton's cabrio/3-piece construction and flex, but it adds a 4th buckle, supposedly allowing it to fit like either a 100 or 102mm last. Sounds like BS to me. It also has a more traditional, lower cuff. My guess is that if you're a long-time Krypton fan the Panterras will feel overbuilt, low, and weird.

FWIW I spent the better part of a decade in the original Kryptons (I had the brown ones with the faux fur cuff that I think came out their second season of production), switched to Full Tilts for a while, and now I'm back in the Lupo 130s that share a last and lower shell with the new Kryptons. I absolutely love them so far. They feel just like a slimmed down version of my old Kryptons. Throw a thicker Pro Wrap liner in there and I bet you wouldn't know the difference.

That looks like you had the tongue on the inside of the top part of the shell and closed and clamped down on the buckles and cut the plastic of the shell...

    It does, doesn't it?

That could NOT have been comfortable while skiing with it buckled like that...

Haha. Sorry. I put the tongue between the shell to show the Crack better. This was awhile ago

Not an expert, but my KR2 120's came with 2 tongues- C is "Ride" tongue and the B is the "Race" tongue w harder flex... Not sure if they change the actual C and B tongues from one boot flex rating to another. IE if they are the same C flex rated tongues in a pair of Krypton KR2 130 flex boots are stiffer plastic or thicker than a pair of Krypton KR2 flex 110 boot... I know they do make the tongues with different color plastic (but that could just be color and the same plastic pellets in the molding...

I picked yet another pair of KR2 Pros from a couple seasons back. I never should've sold my old ones. Still the best skiing boot I've ever been in, although I still have a special place in my heart for the old black w/green buckle Krypton Pros. I also picked up some Lupo Factorys this fall (they sent those instead of the 130's I ordered), and I can't say enough good things about those, other than the liners, which were WAY too roomy. I bought some Intution Luxury Liners (MV), and that fixed that situation though. I also bought some of the Vibram GripWalk soles, and those are pretty bitchin too.

I hope they never change this line of boots much. I can't find anything that keeps my foot at home better.

    Love my Krypton Pro.
Shop rat that I picked them up from put some Vibram heels and toes w/ DIN block on them (Lange XT?, something like that).

Just picked up a new pair of Lupo Tis (PU clog), pretty excited about that.
Although I think I'll have to do the forward lean mod, I skied the original Lupos (black and orange) and found them to be too upright.
Put me right in the ol' dumper posture.

Can anyone confirm if this latest iteration of the Krypton Pro has the same forward lean as the last one, and not the upright forward lean stance of the Lupo?

Not sure on the latest, but when I got my Kryptons I had to immediately install the max fwd lean adjuster. Them things were REALLY upright compared to my old Avanti V12s.

In that vein, is the forward lean on the green PU clog Lupo the same as the forward lean of the OG Lupo (black and orange)?

My guess is that all of the new Lupos/Kryptons that share a last, if not all of those models across the board, will have the same forward lean (last width in mm is printed somewhere on the lateral side of the clog.) There is no way it’s worth it for Dalbello to invest in seemingly identical clog molds and only adjust the forward lean.

What it feels like to me, having ridden Kryptons and Full Tilts for the past 15 years and now riding the Lupo 130 Cs, is that the forward lean is pretty close to the same. One of the main selling points of the original Kryptons, because they were marketed to park skiers, was their upright stance. The big difference between old and new seems to be the 130 tongue which, especially in the shop or for the first couple of runs, is pretty difficult to flex through the very top end. As a smaller guy, I can barely flex the tongues back into ski mode if they’ve been sitting around in my pack or even my house. Once the tongues loosen up, though, the boots feel significantly less upright.

The original Lupos had the exact same lower as the Krypton, but a significantly more upright forward lean. The lack of forward lean comes from the walk lever position, not from the mold. I've seen people add material to lengthen the walk lever (effectively increasing forward lean) as well as add material to the notch that the lever sits on. I'd imagine the same differences exist in the latest models, but not sure.

Was there a Lupo before these? They don't share the same clog as the Kryptons.

I have a pair of those on the way.
Here is the original, no tech inserts.
    Lupo SP:https://hopperski.com/2013/10/23/jus...ki-boots-2014/

Thinking the Lupo Tis have the same forward lean as the Lupo SPs (but not sure).
I found the SPs to be too upright and ended up selling them, but I hadn't seen the margotron mod for added forward lean and may end up doing that to the Tis.

That’s not a Krypton clog. The original Krypton had a solid toe and heel with a “beam” of PU running between the two. The entire bottom of the boot was flat.
