    Zermatt Guide Recommendations

Any maggots have a good recommendation for a guide in Zermatt?
Looking for either some lift accessed freeride skiing or possible some lift assisted touring

I'll be there for only one day of skiing, at the begining of March

Also does anyone know good shops in Zermatt to rent AT or tele gear from?

    Gracias (or is it Danke?)

Probably your best bet is just line up something with the guide office in town. Most guides are not going to want to book one day well in advance because it could mess up multi day bookings that are their bread and butter.

That is how I booked in La Plagne a while ago. Don't expect to ski anything too radical on a day trip. The guide is going to want to see your ability level before committing to too much. If all goes well you will ski a run or two and then he/she will make a call of something fun yet safe.

Richard Lehner. Long term Zermatt resident and full U.I.A.G.M. Mountain Guide. I worked with him as a ski tech when he worked as a heliski guide at Last Frontier Heliskiing's Bell 2 lodge in northwestern B.C. back in the early 2000's. Can't say I've had any contact since the then but looks like he's still at it. If you drop him a line, say hi from Guido at L.F.H.

Zermatt is an awesome town, a bit spendy, but fun to visit. How is the skiing?
