    Armada invictus ti?

Hey dudes. Looking at some Armada Invictus ti, both 89 and 99. I'm 5'10 200 and skiing at Loveland almost daily, which means right now, a ton of groomers. I have a Line Mordecai for powder days, and Nordica Enforcer 100 for daily. What do people think about the Invictus ti? I'd be looking for it to be a hard charger for groomer days, as my Nordica is pretty good on everything in between crusty groomers and powder, but not great for either of those. Chattery on the hardpack at speed. Especially choppy hardpack.

My guess is that if you tried the Invictus 99 you'd stop using your Enforcers. Having spent 4 seasons on the Invicus 108, they're pretty stiff(not overly stiff), damp and super fun. They won't be chattery on hardpack or choppy hardpack or crud. They'll likely be fine in up to a foot of new snow.

The Invictus line isn't like anything Armada has made before.

IMO it's a no brainer if you intend on keeping the Enforcers: get the 89 only because it is more hard snow focused and you don't need it to be anything else since you have an all mountain all rounder and a powder ski already.

if you get a deal on Armada I understand but, alternatively, if you can ski, I cannot recommend getting a 70 something (or low 80 something) tight radius metal laminate ripper enough. Way too much fun and always avail for cheap on your local CL.

There's a pretty good deal on new Invictus skis from last year. I was actually thinking the same thing, though.

Sell your Enforcers and buy the Invictus 99 for a daily driver. Augment with something 80 underfoot or less for really hard days.

Why do you suggest replacing the Enforcer with the Invictus?

It'll do everything the Enforcer does but has more backbone. It won't chatter and get deflected in funky snow.

I mean, the more backbone and less chatter is why I want it, but it seems such a stiff ski wouldnt be much fun in the bumps.

i have an invictus ti 89 and a pair of gunsmoke. love the invictus. my hunch is that indeed they will be too close to the enforcers if you intend to keep those.

I'm not sure I'm going to. I picked up some Icelantic Nomads for a "playful" ski, and I'd like something better on hardpack than the Enforcer is. How is the Invictus on bumps?

so many choices. Any Head Supershape but even older ones are still a bit pricey. Nordica Dobermann Spitfires (the pro is probably best choice + rare in NA but dirt cheap when they come up, especially the '14s and older). Fischer Progressor 900's. Dynastar Course's (although dynastar has had so many name and model changes you need to know what you are getting). you're going to have to use the google and look for frontside carvers.

you can probably find a set of Volkl Supersport allstars from ~10 years ago for under $100.

As eluded to above. if I was in your shoes and got the 89ti I'd probably not touch the Enforcer 100's again. It's too much overlap with the enforcer 100 and the versatility leaning towards edging and carving rather than the softer snow bias of the Enforcer suits my needs much more. A soft snow biased 100mm ski makes no sense to me. I can do more with same width ski that has camber tip to tail. But I am sure I am in the minority.

ok thanks. I really enjoy the Enforcer for most things, it's just not my first choice for groomers, especially when going fast. but, i'm spending less time doing fast groomers and more time looking for trees and soft snow and bumps. I picked up some nearly new Icelantic Nomad 95's last night for a song, so now I'm thinking I have playful and soft snow stuff covered between those and my Line Mordecai's. I think if I was after one single ski, I would prob stay with Nordica Enforcer 100's. But I have room for 3. dunno.

Anyone ski the newer 108 with the lighter core?

    Found this in another thread:

"Has the Invictus 108 been neutered for 17-18? The info below sounds ominous; any of you have some better news?

"The Armada Invictus 108 Ti has been updated for 2018, it now features a new light wood core, lighter weight glass layup construction, refined flex for optimal skiing and a high level of dampening. What does all this mean? In short, it’s lighter weight and more manageable than the previous version while being easier to flex/bend the ski into reverse camber increasing edge grip and carvability with less ‘Flappiness’.
The Armada Invictus 108 Ti is labelled as a hard charger for a big mountain skier but we would say it’s flex isn’t intimidating and doesn’t need to be pushed flat out all the time, although it is capable of doing so. It is a directional ski with a wider tail, this tail shape really locks the ski into an arc of firmer groomers, the AR Rocker nose deals with every snow condition you point it at.
Want to charge freeride terrain but would like to use your quads the next day? The Invictus 108 is the ski.""
