We chose this area in part because the huts open in mid-February and are apparently pretty freakin' nice (as far as mountain huts are concerned). So we are looking at a short (3-4 day) tour in either the Silvretta area or Stubai Alps. Both look pretty nice, good terrain that everyone in our group can get over, nice scenery, easy access, great huts, etc. For those of you who have been to both, do you recommend one over the other, and why? Also, I heard Iscghl is also good and while not as gnar as St. Anton, I also hear the off piste doesn't track out as fast as st. anton because almost everyone there is a hungover blue skier sticking to the pistes. Worth going to Ischgl for a day or just stick to St. Anton? My most gnarly crash was at Stubai...I couldn't self arrest, yard sale'd, then proceeded to go out of control down a face for a good 400m or so. I love Yurp.
Also hitting Engelberg for a day at the beginning. FREAKIN PUMPED
