    Euromags, need Austria advice

So i think i picked the right year for a yurp trip. We are heading to Austria for a week in mid-late Feb. Have a place in Pettneu as a base, and planning to ski St. Anton a couple of days and also do a short multi-day tour somewhere in the area. We chose this area in part because the huts open in mid-February and are apparently pretty freakin' nice (as far as mountain huts are concerned). So we are looking at a short (3-4 day) tour in either the Silvretta area or Stubai Alps. Both look pretty nice, good terrain that everyone in our group can get over, nice scenery, easy access, great huts, etc. For those of you who have been to both, do you recommend one over the other, and why? Also, I heard Iscghl is also good and while not as gnar as St. Anton, I also hear the off piste doesn't track out as fast as st. anton because almost everyone there is a hungover blue skier sticking to the pistes. Worth going to Ischgl for a day or just stick to St. Anton?

Also hitting Engelberg for a day at the beginning. FREAKIN PUMPED

My most gnarly crash was at Stubai...I couldn't self arrest, yard sale'd, then proceeded to go out of control down a face for a good 400m or so. I love Yurp.

So, your plan is solid. The Hut trip will be gold during that time frame, as far as coverage goes, in both areas. Stubai is cool, Anton is cool, Iscghl is cool, as are the other 80 resorts within 50km. I would keep an eye on the weather/storms and see who is getting the most. I love Anton, Sölden used to be my home base, but you are about to see how Euro's crush the freeskiing at that place. Anton is huge, I probably would not go to Ischgl unless you are feeling ancy and just want to check out somewhere different or Ischgl is getting more snow. Prepare yourself to see dudes crushing it hard, and getting chased by avy's within resort bounds. It is an awesome place.

Don't forget. When in Yurp, anything that is not a groomer is not avy controlled, therefore treat it as the backcountry within resort bounds.
