I don't know but the song was released in 1980.

Right, but, for example, there are some Rossi 4S's in the vid, and that ski was released in 84. I feel like 85 or 86 is a safe guess--maybe even later, would have to look again.

I never went with the longer Skis.
    I skied 190 Dynastar Acryglass from 17 to 30.
So that means that it's just over twenty years ago that Michael Kennedy broke his head open chasing a football on the slopes of Aspen.

I bought my first helmet just weeks before both.

No offence meant, but Utah has always been just a bit off from the rest of the country.
The Hair, beards, clothes look late 70's I am guessing this was made in the early 80.s they look to be about the same age and a bit older than I was at that time.

Tellin ya, Some of the same people you will see today skiing with their grown kids,

Guarantee that vid is less than 10 years old...boots, bindings, a new school Smith sticker. Probably a lot more if you looked closely.

[QUOTE=Dexter Rutecki;5214863]John Denver was a pretty good skier (keep in mind those are skinny, straight skis--probably 200cm).

So he was on girl skis? You didn't dare show up to ski with our crew on anything under 200.

I have no clue what was allowed there back then. Except lots of cocaine. I'm pretty sure cocaine was allowed. The one-pieces sort of support that theory.

That's what I was trying to figure out. Looked like more than one place? Some of it reminded me of A-basin, and could have sworn there was a Crested Butte shot, plus the Tetons?

I think some people are confusing the original JD video and the Alta recreation. Denver's is clearly from the '80s and the Alta vid is recent.

Really on the Alta Vid? So it's a retro fakish video?

I don't know what Alta looked like 35 years ago

I'm pretty sure there a few brief shots from somewhere in Euroland.

Yeah, like I said, that thing was made less than 10 years ago, and I would actually guess within the past five, most likely. I bet someone else could say for sure.
