Pulled one of my few remaining home brews out of storage this weekend. A baltic porter, around 12 yrs old. Very smooth but taste profile definitely flattened a bit after all this time.

For a rainy night decided to open up my last bottle of one of my favorite beers ever - Mogli by Caldera Brewing out of Ashland OR. Barrel aged imperial porter at 10.5%.
Was blown away the first time I tried this at the brewery, but back then it was not bottled and you couldn't get any fills to go. When I found out they started bottling it I loaded up on two cases the next time I passed through town.
Flavor isn't as complex as it once was, but still awesome.

Tart of darkness is nearly carbd and tastes fantastic.

Couple recent ones
Don't seem to get much from The Bruery down here anymore. This one was light, and nice drinking
Also picked up some Speedway.

A decade ago all the brewers in this town were engaged in an IPA arms race. Today we have three that produce exceptional old European styles - sometimes with a twist.

Subversive Brewing comes up with some interesting other beers. This is one of the lighter, crisper stouts I've had in a long time.

I read that Holy Mountain Brewing has opened a second taproom at 7009 Greenwood Ave N in Seattle. This will be much more convenient to me than their old location in Interbay. I might have to check it out and give everyone a trip report.

Porcini beer based on a cali common done with 05 is out of the park savory. Add a porcini garnish for that bit of extra aroma and flavor.watch out for snakes

Full Sail Session is back. I guess I'm not sure it was ever gone, but I hadn't noticed it on the shelves for years. Anyway, I saw a six-pack of 16 oz cans yesterday at Fred Meyer for $10 so I bought a sixer. It's good. A nice, clean light lager at a great price point. Great beer for a sunny summer day.

Full Sail brings me back to 1991 and buying a keg from the brewery in some industrial strip place I think over in Southwest, iirc. I was visiting friends at Reed and L&C.

Yeah, I feel like they've really fallen off the radar screen in the last few years. I've been to their production facility in Hood River a couple times, but it's been years now.
