I'm dreaming of a red xmas

Well actually since talking to KQ, it appears I'm more of a Saturnalia guy, but anyway it's the holiday season, so one gets to drink more than one might normally. Bought my first magnum of good french today and am anchoring it with a couple of other worthy bottles. This half-jew atheist is quite looking forward to xmas day 2017, the kids coming from Boston and Munich, and cracking these babies!

What reds are you folks drinking this Saturnalia?

I found this description of this celebration: "during Saturnalia there was a general round of feasts, partying, game playing and merrymaking for all". Sounds about right!

Reds--whatever my wife bought cheap at Traders. Will definitely sip some of the overpriced bourbon my kid gave me last xmas. I save that for special occasions.

I've been buying Amarone at wtso.Com. as normally is too expensive, but found good deals.

    Love the wine.

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
Lighting trees in darkness, learning new ways from the old, and
Making sense of history and drawing warmth out of the cold.

Hey, cool. I love Amorones but pretty pricey. I'll look at your source, thanks for that! Best for the holidays man!

Yeah KQ! That's awesome. A hand drum played by me with her would sound pretty good. KQ Claus can you line that up in 2018 for me please? Oh, and your gift ideas.... pure wondrous perfection. Cheers, happy Saturnalia!!

This bubbly red from Germany is very interesting. Our friends are the importers.

    Maybe wait till after X-Mas.

For the cheap-$10-$30- JOSH is pretty good Cab, Iter- never had it, but it is popular. Truth and Valor- again- haven't had it yet. May pick some up today.

    Mid price-$30-$50 The Prisoner

For the not so cheap-$50+ Cakebread anything is amazing. Silver Oak is nice too.

BIL is (was) a rep, so I’ve got random stuff that I forget about.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Had some of Zach Brown's Cab tonight with a Rib Roast. It was pretty damn good.
