I already tried the whole "Jesus take the wheel" approach, and as you know, it cost me a Pilot. I'm not going back to that guy.

Yes, we know that some people here think being a dick is normal. But other people manage to get through entire days at a time without being one, and, very occasionally, without having to interact with one. I'm just trying to increase the number of those days.

Call Louie or Jordan downtown or Dustin on Broadway at Big O. They'll set you straight. They can be a little more expensive than other places but they've always taken care of me.

Have you tried the other option?

Yeah, the guys downtown at Big O were my go to for a long time, until they screwed up my car, half-assed the repair, tried to make me pay for it, then left me hanging one time too many while I was waiting for service, after giving them a third chance.

    Well, there goes that idea.

It's back to taking advice from dicks on internet forums.

Leaving there was a hard choice, but felt I had to. The Les Schwab just up the street does quality work, so I've been going there. But they are less likely to be helpful with finding bargains.

Les Schwab is a pain in the ass to get into. I've heard Big O is but I've been going there so long they always get me in. And I bring them a 12er sometimes to say thanks. They had a screw up with me but they made it right. Plus the owner grew up close to my hometown so I think he takes care of the good ol' Prairie boys.

Les Schwab, Ha! Fucking mark. Go to Discount Tire, there are two locations in Boise. Tell them you want snow wheels for a 2016 4Runner, they'll hook you up. They will match or beat anyone on price.

FWIW--when I bought snows for my 05 Forester they had cheap AL rims for the same price as steel, so I said why not. The wheels have 10 holes (I use 5 of them) and use different nuts and socket. Hope to get through one last winter on the tires without finding out there's no way to change a flat.

Can you tell us more about the tires Jim?

I’d like to have all the facts before recommending a rim that I believe would be appropriate.

i have an 06 tundra. That matches ANY Tacoma. They are a 6x5.5 bolt pattern. I believe 4runners share this bolt pattern. If the rims are indeed stock toyota, as long as they are 6 lugs on both trucks you're fine. Newer Tundras (after 07) went to a 5 bolt pattern.

Did you go snag that complete set of wheels already mounted with studded snows for $150 yet? Worth it just for the wheels....and you may get a winter out of the tires too.

Any 6 bolt Toyota truck/suv wheel 17" will fit. Some 16 will fit, but no 15s will fit.
