I'm pretty sure these fine folks won the weekend but that's just me. Everyone behind them thought the same thing.

Get up early and be in line at Chair 1 at Alpental at 8am to meet the regulars. Then ski deep snow without much crowds because everyone burned their sick day on Super Tuesday.

#$%@ that, I'm "working" from "home" tomorrow because all my meetings have been canceled this week and starting my vacation on Wed.

Time to call in a favor to your local truck drivers to see if we can get some of 'em sideways east of Denny Creek after 7:30...

    And wind loading.

    And the inevitable powder frenzy.

Heard Stevens was "really good" today. To bad people like to wait until 5 days before Christmas to do their holiday shopping.

It looks like it's going to dump tonight all across wa. I gotta see if I can get all the kiddos to nap at the same time so I can try and sneak out early afternoon tom. If not it'll be Wednesday around noon when I head to alpy.

I posted full depth facets not surface hoar, you know the difference. High north facing is all facets I would guess as long as the snow hasn't been skied out. That's what it's like where I've poked around. You also know that surface hoar is still a problem even if it's just knocked down. It'll will need to round before it's not a problem. All this new snow and wind seems like it will be a problem until the old snow is buried pretty deep.

Hwy 2 Wasps were out in force this weekend, sniping eastbound drivers as they climb the last straight stretch before the lower lots. Chelan co also rolled through the lot and pulled over some confused floridian as he pulled into his parking spot. Already looks like a heavier presence than years past, find yourself a rabbit to follow on the way up, and wait till the parking to fog up those windows..

Ya ya pics are on their way

With the heavy expected snowfall tomorrow and Wednesday, Friday looks like the best backcountry day this week. At least for the Crystal area

Currently snowing heavily at my house. Crossing fingers that the east slope finally gets some love.

Sky still slushing aggressively at the exit for East. Beats the rain we've been having... Looking forward to waking up to the sound of bombing in the morning (and yes, I know, if you don't get out of bed until the ordinance starts detonating you might as well go back to sleep, buuut there will be fewer powder techs and plenty of refills in the afternoon & evening)

Looks like 2-3 days of snow in PNW for the entire month of Dec this year. Probably 20-25 percent of normal and then another two weeks of Rex block. La Niña can take a hike. Give me El Niño
