I've already said an awful lot about why I'm here. I didn't refuse to answer your question, you refused to read the answers that were already out there. To recap: I'm curious about virtual social dynamics; I think there are som einteresting people here; I ski; I bike; I fish; I climb; I think there are a bunch of people here who are NOT assholes; I'm curious whether the presence of a bunch of people acting like dicks adds to or detracts from their experience here. Nobody has to answer my questoins at all, I put the question out there and some folks will choose to answer, more won't, and the ones who do might have something itneresting to add. That's the way socmed works, but you apparently take it as some kind of personal affront that I asked some questions.

And then there's mags. The og's would ski together, come home, post stoke, and post each other grief about it. That's faded some, but it's still a factor. Nowadays it seems we sometimes ski together, and occasionally post stoke. Now the stoke must always be rewarded. That pushes the insults to other threads.

But I already have quit my criticism, and moved on. I am now simply curious. Pointing out that some posters here like to be dicks isn't a criticism, it's a statement of totally undeniable fact. Pio, Meadow Skipper is spot on, you'd be wise to be a bit more receptive to what he's saying.

As for this place, well, there are very few completely worthless individuals here. Sure, some are dicks or insulting more than I'd like, but almost everyone here contributes humor and wit at some point (outside of poliass), and enough contribute a good bit of it on a regular basis, to make this place worthwhile. And the wealth of knowledge and assistance here is really remarkable sometimes. And I know some very cool people in person who are on this board, and there are a bunch I've never met in person but wouldn't hesitate to welcome into my home.

And for those lamenting the good old days, yeah I missed the very best parts, but since I've been here, the place has changed, people come and go, but it's still one of the best corners of the Interwebz.

Generally, it's the price I'm willing to pay. But as you so ably demonstrated to yourself in the past, sometimes it can be a little bit fun to be a dick. Just like it occasionally can IRL. Generally, I try not to be one here or IRL, but I'm not perfect.

I think PIO makes some good points in some threads, but he is too much of a sanctimonious asshole for most posters.

JamesPio returned to the forums and was welcomed back with open arms by most. Within just a few days he blew whatever good will the community had towards him by posting the same sanctimonious bullshit as before.

This is the padded room. Are these complaints about not posting stoke related to ski stoke? Riding stoke? Kayaking stoke? If so shouldn't complaints about the lack of the aforementioned stoke be directed to those pertinent sections of the site if they are indeed lacking in the appropriate stoke? Do people have to first post stoke in one of the other sections before they are allowed to post nonsense in the padded room?

IMO stoke here is dog, kitty, baking, annoyances, current events, life events, cooking and other random/misc junk that may be bouncing off the walls of your mind. I've just never understood why people come to the padded room and complain about content. It is what it is.
