Does this by any chance fit more like an XL?

Arc seems pretty "accurate" and consistent with their sizing.

But their sizing differs amongst their shells. So this is still a large but it's way roomier than say a Beta AR large.

This later version of the stingray would be most similar in sizing to a large Sabre or Tantalus.

Probably not much help but being that those two models are current you could at least try for size.

Love this jacket for inbounds. I'm 6'0, 158 lbs with broad shoulders and long arms and the medium is perfect. I find Arcteryx L to be perfect for 'trim fit' items and medium is good for me for shells or 'athletic fit/regular fit'. Sooo much quieter/less crinkly than the Pro-Shell GTX pieces, albeit a little heavier. The only feature I didn't love was the grippy powder skirt which was too grabby for my tastes but a skirt-ectomy is a simple operation if you feel the same way.

    Super jacket!

They had that "expedition fit" that was pretty big. I think that was the only L of there's that fit me. If this isn't that, then I'll pass.
Shit, my Cloudveil RPK is still going pretty strong.

Stucky, how big are you? I'm 5'11' and 210 and wear this jacket in a Large. Still has some arm length and room through the back. I dont like a Tall-Tee gangster look, but its not a tight Euro Ski-mo fit either. I can comfortably wear an 800 weight down under it.

Wow. Similar size. 6' and 200 or so. I usually feel like I need a lot of chest room to be comfortable, not just long sleeves. I tend not to like "fitted" stuff. I need room to move and breath.

Arc'teryx Stingray jacket large like new

    Still available...

Think: new without tags. Let's go people! Buy this jacket! It'll be the last shell you ever buy (unless you need some pinner 400g shell) because it cannot be worn out and if you do there's a great shot Arc will repair it or get you a replacement.

For your height and arms is should be fine, but you will have a lot of room up top around the chest.

All of you asking about sizing, I really suggest, if you can, sourcing out a place that stocks some Arc and trying on a Rush (actually, that will probably fit even larger in all aspects) or a Tantalus or an Iser. i am guessing that the Iser was the direct replacement for the Stingray but sorry, I don't know if the fit was changed for that but it's gotta be extremely close.

All I know is this latest model Large Stingray is larger and longer than the Stingrays of say 10years ago (which I wore comfortably at 5'10" 185ish pounds...even though it was always a bit too big).

To me, this shell is huge (but I'm only 160lbs these days). I would think 6' about 200lbs would be the perfect fit give or take. And Wes, I can only imagine at 6'3" 180 getting a perfect fit in any shell is a helluva task. i thought Arc did medium and large talls in select shells but its only select pants. Going size large will get you the right arms and torso length but a lot of material billowing up top. Don't rule out medium especially if you can find an '18 product as Arc has lengthened the torso and arms in a lot of them like the Rush's.

I guess I just figured out why the arms and torso are so long on so much of their product and it is to fit as wide a range as possible.

Arc puts a large at a 43" chest. If you are a 40" chest you will have a lot of room in this, period.

How does the Stingray compare to the Tantalus in fit? Unfortunately I don't have any stores close to me.

Tempting. I really had buyers remorse when I bought a Stingray over 5 years ago. So much money for just a shell. That buyers remorse ended quickly. It’s still going strong all these years later. I bought one in black, and wear it skiing, and for everything else. True 3 season jacket, of not 4.

As for size. I’d say very true if not slightly slim fit. I’m 5’11” 208ish probably,

later models of the stingray, as this one is, had the cut listed as 'semi relaxed'. A tantalus is 'regular'. A Sabre is 'relaxed'.

No idea what semi relaxed is but I am going to guess it's pretty much regular and thus the tantalus and the stingray are pretty similar fits.

Personally I am not a fan of the Sabre as the shell and the pants are really baggy. They really trimmed up the Sabre pants for his year.

I digress. I hope that helps a bit.

And to add, I sold about a hald dozen medium Arc shells on here a couple weeks back.

My experience (and I put on every one in case I really wanted to keep one) was the Rush was pretty big for a medium: lots of room for layers and long arms. A Beta SV and Tantalus seemed very similar. I can really only describe the fit as 'regular'. I did not find them trim nor baggy. I thought they were just right, for me anyway, Maybe I'd like a little shorter torso but only by an inch. Beta AR was about 3" shorter and much trimmer fitting than all.

Now $215 shipped. Can't and won't go lower. Friends and family @ $215 or add 5% for PayPal fees (I'm in Canada so 3% pp fee + 2% foreign conversion premium) if goods purchase option.

Out of the roughly dozen items I've sold on here I've never had a product where so many pm'd me saying they wanted it and asked for my pp and then didn't pay. Please don't do that.
