The laws banning murder/suicide and discharge of a firearm didn't cut much ice in this particular case. But you're saying another law would have prevented the other infractions?

I guess this 21 year old was dating a 30 year old Air force guy, On the night of her 22nd Birthday they broke up.
So he went to her apartment armed with 3 guns blew everyone away then killed himself?
A sad but common story.
Many years ago a close family friend was killed by an air force Sargent who had written bad checks in his casino and wanted them back.

I'm bored,
What if the 22 year old woman living in a shitty apartment, had a shotgun for self defense, and knew how to use it.
Pissed off X shows up at 2 am she blows him out of his shoes. - also a common story you don't see in the news.
Or X knows woman has a shotgun and decides not to show up because, He might get shot? = America at it's best
did you see the interviews with CA fire victims today? Guy holding the burnt frames of the guns he had in his house?

Yeah, I don't really think that not shooting people because you worry they might shoot back actually constitutes the "best" that America can do. I think maybe we can do quite a bit better than that.
For instance, in my entire life, I have NEVER chosen not to shoot somebody because they would shoot back. I just chose not to shoot anybody because it's the right fucking thing to do. Your mileage may vary.

I like guns. I own several. I just choose to shoot or not shoot people because it's incumbent upon me as a gun owner to always choose the appropriate response when dealing with others.
Haven't shot anyone yet.![]()
Let's talk about gun control. Steepconcrete will moderate by saying the same thing every other page. Who's in?
Well. Only if the victims are white. Otherwise, they don't make TGR.
It would be interesting to know the reason why CO and TN, have pretty much the same gun laws and share carry permit reciprocity, but CO has far less gun violence.
I never read about gang shootings, when I lived in Denver. They happen every night here.

Re: TN & CO - look up statistical variance. It's not a great mystery of the world.
Ever read the police thread? Lots of gun violence with black victims & mags chirping about how it needs improvement.
Gang stuff doesn't get much press though. Why? Witnesses tend to stay silent, narratives are harder to find & reporting is generally suppressed. Which feeds back via the news cycle to suppress readership & thus TGR commentary. Like the statistical variance- not exactly a Holmes-level mystery.
Your preference to use bad logic to cast mags in a racist light isn't very impressive. Mostly because the explanations that elude you are just below the surface. But also because it's a harebrained & shallow attempt to shift focus to a completely unrelated topic. Akin to a mtngirl hijack.
Yea it's because they don't talk. I'm sure social status and race has nothing to do with the lack of coverage.

For such outspoken anti gun folks here, you would think all gun violence would get equal coverage.
The 16 year old black girl that got shot in the head, by a 17 year old black male here a couple weeks ago, is a much more compelling story for too many guns. Two groups of teens shooting at each other next to Titan stadium in the Cayce Homes Dev. None old enough to own a handgun. 16 year old girl, running for cover, gets a stray bullet.
That is the gun violence that plagues the US.
This thread is about a crime of passion, labeled as a school shooting, perpetrated by a 30 year old active duty member of the Air Force who had no prior criminal background. This would have happened, no matter what.

It's not this gun violence that is bad & causes pain - its THAT gun violence.
That's some Pulitzer shit right there. Call the board, we need a Q3 award for the penetrating analysis up in here.

News coverage about a murder depends on social status, attractiveness, race (of the victim, the perp, and whether they're the same or different), etc. A gang shooting is just another gang shooting and the vast majority of us who follow the news don't really give a shit. I'm not defending this--just pointing out a fact that should be obvious to the meanest intelligence (as a professor of mine used to say).

I should've thought of that one. It made national news.
