I liked Hawk HPS pads on my GTi, going with them again when it's time on the Alltrack. I stick with OEM rotors, don't need anything fancier.

Update on the incredibly poor build of my 2017 Sportswagen 6M/4Motion.
Was aware of the recall of the rear coil springs failing and noticed the rear seemed to be sitting lower. Had it up on the lift today to replace the rear differential [found a used one for about $2,000 less than VW's new part]. Both rear coil springs are snapped in the middle!
VW "customer care" could care less. Even though my model and year are of the type being recalled, my vin is not on the "list."
For those keeping score at home, I've also replaced the water pump, the check engine light keep throwing codes for misfire of cyclinder no.3 which started at about 14K miles, and the EPC infrequently triggers for likely issue of needing to replace the engine valves. Even though a "rare" all wheel drive with three pedals, my tuner says "sell."
Here’s a weird one: it’s proving near impossible to obtain the part number for the honeycomb surround that snaps in around the front radar sensor. If you look at this guy’s pic in this Reddit thread you can see the hole caused by the missing grille sub-part. It’s maybe 14” wide. In my case, it got knocked out when a friend hit a quail.
Unfortunately Google searches for parts diagrams for a 2017 Alltrack all lead to this incorrect diagram: https://parts.vw.com/a/Volkswagen__A...3-F21F25F38D42 …which doesn’t even show the separate snap in piece. A phone call to a VW dealer led to them selling me a bezel (not a grille piece) for a smaller sensor from another VW.
Interestingly, on eBay there is an image showing the actual front bumper / grille assembly diagram:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/256010813656 It’s the part labeled 14 that I need, but the image is cropped such that the actual VW part number is not visible unfortunately. You’ll have to scroll to see the diagram sorry.
I’d like to order this part before I fly out of town for a bit but not sure how to outsmart the parts.vw.com fuckup. Any ideas?
