My favorite True West scene from 1:00 to 2:07 or so:

Prolly "True West" should go into the Best Westerns list.

This bums me out. I enjoyed his acting, most recently in blood lines.

True story: I was at a local gas, ammo and bait store and turned my head, as I recognized the voice at the counter. It was Sam with his distinctive voice and he was buying bait and a fifth of Beam. He walked out and got into his older Suburban to go angling. I can dig a guy like that.

    This.

Who is filling this slot today? Just seems like there's a bunch of pussies out there. This guy did all the shit he did and was married to Jessica Lange. Top that.

I never saw any of his plays--I'm not much of a play goer---but he was one of my favorite actors. My favorite role of his was in "Frances".

I saw him around town in Santa Fe a couple times. I sent a drink over to him once at the bar in a restaurant where we were eating. He raised the glass to us. Honored.
