BORDER FOLLIES - iCE Behaving Badly

Right after 9-11, US Border Patrol grabbed a guy at a gas station that was in the US while the other side of the street was Canada. He had a grouse hunting rifle gun in the trunk so he was sent to jail as an armed terrorist. With the new get tough, gloves off policy endorsed by the POTUS and the Keystone Kops Border Patrol now armed and dangerous strange shit is going to happen.

    Post what you see

I'll start. 90 minutes late = 20 days in jail.

I've been to a lot of different US/Canada border crosspoints, both pre and post 9/11, but have yet to come across one that has US on one side of STREET and Canada on the other with no booth or some sort of demarcation between them. Not saying such s place didn't exist pre-9/11, just have never seen one. WHERE????

Read the article. Shit like that outlined above sometimes makes me fucking HATE the U.S....or at least its retarded government. How in hell did things get this bad, and I just have to wonder how much worse things will get before they get better.

The article didn't say why Canada held him at their border patrol in the first place. He is part of the Commonwealth!

Oh stop, it's his fault for being a lazy fuck or trying to do some shady shit. Stop looking for ways to hate the government.

Guess I won't be able to make a living writing click bait headlines for folks with ADD. Before I let this thread die and try again:

90 minutes = 14 days in jail = OK. Got it. A system that you need a lawyer to figure out. Welcome travelers.

@ Alaskan Rover- I throw a bone using my knowledge of the past and you question my truthfulness. Try thinking without your post 9-11 goggles. There are a bunch of towns in Maine, Vt, NH that straddle the boarder. See Derby Lane Vt. What I said happened, happened. I'ts going to start happening again.

I admit to having a hard on for the border patrol. I've crossed 100 times and 20 times they were dicks. Now that they have guns, 5000 more troops in the pipeline and a get tough regime in power they'll be needing to make the numbers somehow to justify the cost and make us feel safe. I thought a thread to collect the dumbness to come would be good.

Just when I get my head around transitioning from epic to TGR, now I gotta work pugski shift.

Before 9-11, I crossed the boarder at Niagara Falls with a sales partner to show the folks at Bauer Hockey a group of hockey bag samples to try and get their business. I told my partner, Dick Payne (yes, real name), not to mention our samples when we crossed. He did alright entering Canada but on the way back that evening when the female US BP agent in the booth asked if we were bringing anything back he said "Just about a dozen sample bags that we brought in this morning" . She told us we were lawbreakers and that the penalties might be $200 a bag and directed us into Customs. Customs guy looks up from his cheeseburger and says "Whats up?" and we tell him. He says "Oh her. She's a piece of work all right. You guys go on and have a safe drive home."

Post em up here, personal accounts or the MSM.

Is this a good thread for Border stories? Cause I got one from back in the day. It's a little in depth though. One of my better ones and it's never even been typed out so far. But only if you're interested.

No one will understand how fucked up the present is until they learn about the past. Shoot.

How long was your stay? Did you buy anything to declare? Who is your tribal chief? Any question as to the previous occupation of the inquisitor? PTSD anyone?

Anyone who hunts grouse with a rifle should be locked up and you're a fucking idiot. Carry on.

I've been known to eradicate carpenter bees with my high-powered German air rifle.

I can fathom this guy's angle.

It was a "grouse hunting rifle gun", so that's OK.
