Beacon BCA Tracker2 BCA Tracker DTS -2014

I need to replace my Mammut - Transceiver (The Red one) I liked it.

Cost is a bit of an issue this year.

    The question is,
is the BCA Tracker2 worth the extra hundred bucks
    over the BCA Tracker DTS

Off the top of the head, it has a longer range (search and transmit) and is better at finding multiple burials. I guess it depends on the terrain you would be in, how many partners you tend to ski with, and whether you have the extra hundo to spare?

    Thanks,
I would like to replace what I had, but 400ish $ dam!
I usually ski alone so first priority would be to find my body without getting people killed (It is what it is)

Second the ability to help if I see an avalanche, locate others quickly. Multiple people would be nice.

Probably gonna compromise, buy the tracker II buy local rather than Amazon Prime.

One problem with the Tracker 2; the big tab at the bottom is used to switch from transmit to receive. Nice and idiot-proof for when your're semi panicking, but the problem is that it's easy to bump the tab back into the transmit position when shoveling etc. It may not be a deal-breaker, but if I was looking at 2 similar options with similar capabilities it would probably swing me towards the other option. Otherwise I've been happy with range etc. with mine.

Dude get a 3 antenna receiver. that would be the tracker2 and not the DTS (DTS has 2 antennas). Compare that 100 extra bucks vs digging at the wrong spot because of a false spike and loosing your buddy.

Its a pretty significant performance step up to the 2. You'll get found just as fast with either but if you need it to find someone it will be worth every penny. Ans a little shopping should reduce the $$$ gap also.

Don't get a two antenna beacon. If you are stuck on BCA, it's worth another $35 for the Tracker 3. If you want to increase the chances of people finding your body if you have a solo accident, the Pieps Pro has the best battery life in "send" mode (400 hours compared to the standard 200).
