The 192cm BO 98 would definitely be easier going and more fun off trail vs the 191cm M102. The BO 98 is still a capable carver and pretty damp for its weight. Another option would be a 185cm Enforcer 104 that's like a more playful M102. More fun at lower speeds than the M102 and great off trail. Also available at great deals for the current 25 version.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will look at e104s as well and see where I can grab the best deal!

Scored a killer deal on a pair of 192 BO 118s to try for next year. Stoked to get them mounted up and test out my repaired knee.

Picked them up off Instagram (weird, I know). They're actually sitting at my brother's house in SLC until I get down there this summer. I thought of you as I was buying them. My Bro says they weigh a metric ton [emoji23]

Mass damping is a beautiful thing.

So, 192 cm is actually printed on the ski? What do they straight tape?

Yes, stamped 192. Pro only model. Not sure of the length since I haven't put my own hands on them.

I can't remember if I have chimed in on MF100s vs SF100s yet - I have been off the forum a while due to other priorities / it being shit.
They are quite different for how alike they are on paper. Their constructions are different, their shapes are different, yet they are def a similar kind of ski. MF100s are a fair bit stronger, which makes them surfier in fresh snow. SF100s are incredibly forgiving, and is for a more centered skier at rec. Both have huge sweet spots - I've mounted my MF100s +3 and they ski great there - and between them they probably cover most of the market. Most intermediaries would prob be happiest on SF100s mounted back. SF100s in particular are an upgrade on BO98s in every way imho - it is a fantastic ski, strong, loose yet plenty capable. SF100s are fun as well - mounted my pair at -1 - but they were a bit too turny off piste for me, or rather SF100s were just perfect for how I ski. SF100s kinda bend and want to turn in heavier snow, whereas SF100s are strong enough to wait for you to tell them to turn and if not just keep going forward. SF100 is the best 100mm ski I've been on by far.

Hey kid, I think you forgot the M in MF100, or my comprehension skills are lacking. That last paragraph is hard to follow.

Kid-kapow is 0/2 on differentiating between MF and SF.

    Rossignol Black Ops?

Just another reader here chiming in—

Yes— I often find myself replacing S’s with M’s to make things make sense.

But I’m also kinda dumb. So I don’t ask much.

Own the BO 98 and SF 100 and both are decent skis. The BO 98 is more precise, damp, quiet and hard snow biased vs the more loose, playful and soft snow/off trail biased SF 100. Got the SF 100 hoping it would be a more playful BO 98 which it is but the downgrade in firmer conditions and lack of damping that makes it sound like a carbon touring ski on firm mornings were deal breakers for me.
The more I skied the new Enforcer 104, the more I realized how much better it is than any of these skis. Much stiffer tip/tail, 300gr heavier with better damping, much stronger on edge yet still very playful. The 185cm length for my 175lbs is easy in tight spots like the SF 100 but groomer and crud performance on another planet. A massive upgrade over the old Enforcer 104 Free in stability, precision and power yet still very fun to ski.
Think it is the reference standard for playful chargers around 100mm right now and find it very similar in feel to the BO 118. Will probably use my E104 and BO 118 for west coast travel skis next season.
My BO 98 already sold to a buddy and the SF 100 currently for sale.
