Don't automatically assume that others have bad intentions; give them the benefit of doubt until you're certain what they actually meant. For example, if someone says something to you that could be interpreted as insulting, don't automatically assume that's what they meant - either ignore it and give them the benefit of the doubt, or follow up and find out what they actually meant. Most people actually have good intentions most of the time, and many arguments come about because people misunderstand each other and then assume the worst.

(This goes double in relationships. Before you get in a fight with your s/o, find out if they actually meant the thing that's pissing you off. Maybe you're misinterpreting them, or maybe they have a good reason that you're not aware of.)

Just eliminate all potential sources of confusion right off the bat by finding out whether the father of the person in question is weak, or the alpha of the family.

It's high time to GTFO of Utah.

This state just fails catastrophically at any sort of urban/suburban planning. It feels to me like the proportions of everything man made in this state are just a little bit off.

I have complained about the proportions of things there for years- really fuckin weird. HUGE hotel room/tiny TV, short straws with wide openings. Huge forks, tiny knives. The list goes on- its like someone slipped you a 1/4 hit of acid.
