Cycling down an adjoining somewhat high traffic road with my son, a motorcyclist blew by at well over 100.

It's a nice road that has some good curves and then a straightaway and virtually any sunny day, the sportbikers go do this shit revving their machines way up past 10k which we can hear from a half mile away through thick woods.

Normally, I shine it on. But the day we got buzzed, I called it in.

I was about to once. Lower part of Parley's Canyon, large black SUV was alternating between driving 60 and 90+, all over the road, just generally erratic "this guy has to be wasted" driving. Before I could pick up the phone though he made a hard lane change, got loose, overcorrected and crashed into the center divider. As we drove past it looked to be a high school-age kid, probably in Mom or Dad's car.

Never called the cops myself. I did follow a guy home after he passed our house on 40mph country road doing 60-70 more than once on his commute. Told him bad things would happen if he roared down MY road again. He found a different route I guess.

We can only hope his girlfriend didn't bite down at the moment of impact...

Several times on potential DUI suspects.

Best was an asshole driving in the left lane of heavy traffic at 55mph in a 70. Had a work number on the van. Called the home office and told him to call his driver and tell him to move his ass over.

I had a guy call the company I work for, and complain about the reckless driver. Gave me the description of the vehicle, plate #, and location. Aggressive driving, tailgating, weaving in and out of lanes...

Turns out, it was me. Or my truck at least. Except that my truck was nowhere near the area he said it was. And we didn't even have anyone for our company working in that town driving through on that day.

Did the call come from Syria?

Only once. Driving on Hwy 101 central Oregon coast. Some chick passes us, over the curb twice almost made the sidewalk, over the curbed median 3 times taking out multiple bushes. Cops made it to her in less than 5 minutes. If you can't keep it between the ditches, fuck you.

I called the news on the cops once. I got a dui and even though I was %100 cooperative the dick bags really roughed me up. 6 cop cars and 10 cops to issue a dui. Anyways, the police department had a fundraiser golf tournament at the CC I grew up playing. Evidently quite a few got smashed drunk and put one golf cart in a lake, flipped another and crashed a couple more. It helped that I was friends with the chief of police. They don't have that golf tournament anymore.

I was in the wrong in my situation, but fuck those hypocrites.

My M-in-L was driving over Loup Loup pass, (a typical 2 lane sorta curvy mountain road). She tells the story:

—about 30 small cars with lots of decals and something like Motive(?) on the windshield came over the Loup going about 80-90 MPH…zooming pas normal drivers(I was going 60 and held on for dear life.
They were zooming past everyone on curves , passing bicyclers etc. I was too scared to try to call 911 until I got to the flats below. I did note they turned North to Twisp. (911 did call the state patrol)

Depending on the situation, if I'm passed by someone, I'll ask Mrs. Plug if I should call 911, or hold on "for dear life".

Heh, called in a vehicle that almost took out three riders (me included) at an intersection, then when we yelled at him he drifted off the pavement into the gravel and stomped the throttle throwing rocks at us. OR State Police made three investigatory calls on his house and were ready to arrest him for vehicular assault with my OK. Cop did say neighbors were gawking every time he showed up, asshole's wife was majorly pissed at him, and asshole seemed pretty contrite, so I let it slide.

I've called the 1-800-howsmydriving number several times when commercial vehicles are being major assholes.

I made the police blotter in Mukilteo.

"Report of cyclist with red and grey beard wearing green reflective vest was shouting at cars on Harbour Pointe Blvd. He was gone by the time officers responded."

I seem to recall muttering about some one needing to learn to drive after passing me a little too close. What a chicken.
