    Best Sushi in Seattle?

Heading to seahawks game Oct 16th with my wife. Staying down town core at the Motif, so would like to be able to walk to everything.

Looking for a nice Sushi place in the down town core for Saturday night. Any other suggestions down there besides pike place for stuff do to do? She will want to shop so any decent outdoor, skate, ski shops in the area for me so I don't go crazy? Will have a vehicle so driving isn't a big deal but prefer not to.

If I am lucky maybe she will let me take her to little darlings after dinner for a cocktail.

My wife raves about Tsukushinbo. Think it was Oft's wife who introduced her to it?

I don't like Sushi very much.

Belltown has three very fine sushi restaurants:
--Ume Saki House is the best big sushi house scene, very good sushi
--Wasabi's in Belltown is excellent, also a fun scene, great specialty rolls
--Shiro's is excellent, smaller, more traditional sushi setting

    International District:
    --Maneki
    --Tsukushinbo

The Rikki Rikki in Kirkland Parkplace shopping center? It was okay, nothing special. Anyway, OP wants to walk from his hotel in downtown Seattle.

Evo as mentioned. REI mothership-store is kind of cool, other than it's REI... probably worth a visit if you haven't before.

    Any other suggestions

If you're hitting the REI flaship store also stop in at Feathered Friends a block away.

When did that happen? I represented the owner of KPP (Ohio teachers pension fund) for 10 or so years. I haven't kept track of that property since it sold it.

    Best Sushi in Seattle?

    On the other bases front

The new speakeasy bar on 35th floor smith tower observation deck is legit. You'll have to pay $12pp for a quick tour n history lesson but cocktails and views up top are worthwhile.

Just adding to this that for Divegirl's birthday we decided to splurge and went with Omakase at Sushi Kashiba. It really was an eye opening experience with a noticeable difference in quality and skill compared to regular sushi spots. Now given the cost would I ever see going there more than once a year (or two)? Probably not but I sort of put that place on the level of Canlis. You go once in a long (long, long) while to get the experience then you remember you don't make nearly enough to justify a place like that. Besides I need to save up for the Kaiseki menu at Naka (http://www.nakaseattle.com/). Probably looking at next summer for that one.
