My last K2's were the El Camino's from 96-97. They were a lot of fun compared to the Salomon F9's I had before them. They were completely blown out after one season. The foam base in between the strips of wood collapsed into themselves if that makes any sense. I think I got them because them because they looked cool or whatever.

New announcement from NWL this morning re divesting some of their biz's.
still no specifics on brands yet but they call out the winter sports businesses...

Newell announced a series of changes related to a comprehensive strategic review of its business conducted since the completion of the Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden combination.
The company will simplify its operating structures consolidating the existing 32 Business Units to 16 Operating Divisions, including the creation of a new global enterprise-wide e-Commerce Division.
The company will also focus and strengthen its portfolio by holding a number of businesses for sale, using the proceeds primarily to accelerate debt pay down, and creating a platform for future acquisitions that strengthen and scale the company’s core businesses.
The businesses held for sale represent about 10% of the portfolio and include the vast majority of the Tools Segment, the Winter Sports businesses within the Outdoor Solutions Segment, the Heaters, Humidifiers, and Fans businesses within the Consumer Solutions Segment, and the Consumer Storage Container business within the Home Solutions Segment.
The total 2015 net sales of the businesses held for sale are approximately $1.5B, and include about $100M of the $250 to $300M of previously announced exits or assets held for sale.
The sale processes are underway and the company hopes to complete the divestiture of the assets held for sale within H1 of 2017.
Proceeds from successful divestitures will be used primarily to accelerate the pay down of debt, with the goal of achieving the company’s stated objective of a leverage ratio of 3 to 3.5 times EBITDA.
At a recent investor conference, the company announced that it expects to deliver $500M in costs synergies by the end of 2018, an acceleration of cost synergy delivery relative to the original commitment of 3 to 4 years from the completion of the Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden Corporation combination on 15-Apr-16.
The acceleration of cost synergy delivery is connected in part to the announcement today of the consolidation of 32 Business Units to 16 Divisions.
The actions announced will not impact 2016 core sales or normalized EPS guidance.

Andy Mahre said during a Powder podcast that they just stopped sending him checks without any word... right around the time he was having his first kid. He kept reaching out and finally heard back after 2 months. Pretty lame.

Probably took NWL that long to realize they owned a ski company?

Heh. But seriously, someone had to stop the auto banking payment and decided to do that without notifying him. Pretty messed up.

Some VP or accountant says to do so, but the Team manager doesn't have the ball's to make the phone call, happens way too often actually.

There's a funny story about the CEO of 3M sitting in on a Scientific Anglers sales meeting back in the day when they were selling flies. After the fly portion he looked into how flies were made and promptly told the head of SA to shutdown their fly program ASAP and be sure to let him know the next time he owned a sweatshop in Asia. True story, or so I've heard....

And that was Andy Mahre, imagine how the average B-team skier gets treated by most companies.

Or they fired the team manager too, and nobody knows what the hells going on. If they are cleaning house at corporate prepping for a sale, nobodys doing nothing that's not visible to those above.

Don't you have a dream life to live or something? bring the smug some more.

if you've ever dealt with contracting corps, and the shit show, it's a familiar story. There are only a few New Yorkers out there.
