Seth Morrison no longer with K2

Just saw this on his Twitter. I know that all sponsorships eventually come to an end, but this one surprised me.

Seth is in free agent land. Teams are less of a thing when skiers don't star in lots $ producing edits / online movies these days.

I get all this but still just wild to me, he's such an icon you'd think he'd have selling power for at least a couple more years, damn shame I say. Hard to disagree with Alpy on this one, bet Morrison would be stoked on some high quality Praxis gear, those K2 cores are garbage

I buy equipment that more or less matches my outfit.

I'm just shocked that SM is now buying his own skis and doesn't know which ones to get. He should pm Rontele.

The amount of boards Travis Rice has sold for LibTech is astronomical.

Full Tilt also dropped their Seth Morrison pro model. Hope this doesn't mean that the original Full Tilt / Raichle Flexon design gets dropped eventually.

It's almost like these big ski companies are in it for the money.

Would be awesome to see a legend like Morrison with ON3P (or at least on some), and I feel like the BG is a pretty natural match for his style.

I hope this means he gets more time and flexibility to pursue personal goals, Seth certainly has put in his time selling skis for K2.

Head should pick him up. Might get their freeride collection on track from a branding standpoint, they make a good ski and like big names. Seriously.

If I was a small manufacturer and saw this I would be sending him emails asking what he'd like from our collection. Even if he isn't making films anymore, the small cost of a pair or two of skis to have one of the most iconic freeskiers of all time ripping around them is worth it. On3p, Praxis, Moment, or esp RMU should be direct messaging him.

I recall SM at some point talking about his distaste for lightweight skis, because weight adds dampness. Weight reduction seems to be the hot trend right now for K2, and the other big players in the ski industry. Just speculation, but maybe SM and K2 did not see eye to eye on where the product was headed. Make a big heavy metal ski for a select few, or a lightweight ski for the masses? When it comes down to making money, its not a hard choice.

I'm sure if he finds a ski he likes, someone out there will pay him to ski on it.

Seth Morrison no longer with K2

Doesn't Seth have bills to pay? I don't think any of those smaller companies can help him out other than providing bomber skis. Sure it'd be nice to see him on Billy Goats or Bibby pros, but he should do what Glen Plake does..

Head, Volkl, Elan, or even Nordica would be good for both him and the company.

    Stockpile NOW!

But really? Seth doesn't get the sponsor love? What a bunch of idiots.

I'm sure he's got bills to pay, but I would hope for how long he's been active that he's got a fair amount of savings/investments/whatever. I'm basing this on absolutely no actual knowledge.

He needs to jump Chad's Gap and put himself back on the map.

Seth has always been one of my absolute favorite skiers to watch, so smooth. Coombs and he are in a class by themselves.

The guy has that understated class so many bozos don't get.
