I bet you could sign up for a class, learn to clean and fillet. My dad taught me as a kid. A few summers ago, I learned to shuck oysters like a pro. I've never been big into fishing but as I get older, stuff like golf and kayaks are more appealing. I like to fish, as long as there's beer involved.I just wasn't sure if the Hudson was clean enough to eat a fish out of it. I guess it is.
Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste goood.
At the state park along the Hudson by me, there was a sign about limiting the amount of fish to eat from the river. I'll have to see if its still there.
I've eaten plenny raw fish, in hawaii. Not sure I'd be grilling anything that came out of the Hudson.
Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste goood.
As long as they are not glowing, they aint so bad.

There’s some fun paddling just north of the city as well. Good spots to put in in Tarrytown, Peirmont, Croton, Nyack and north of Peekskill at Annsville Circle. If you go all the way up to Newburgh or Kingston areas it’s even better.
Kayaking is so much better!
Strong finish
Have you checked out the brewery? Been meaning to find my way there.
Got out on the water yesterday evening, wide section between Piermont and the Tappan Zee Bridge.
I thought this would be a rad thread about the upper/upper Hudson... my bad.
I love Bluefish cheeks. We used to catch so many Bluefish on party boats in NY/NJ in the '70s (20-30 each in 7 hrs.) that we ate a lot of bluefish sandwiches.
We would frequently catch 30+lb. stripers off the jetty in Long Branch.
Rowing in the Hudson sounds like it would have made a good Seinfeld episode.
Sandshark belly strips makes great fluke bait.

but these waters have been pretty darn rough as of late
+1
.....Fwiw..paddling/kayaking experiences on the Hudson's headwaters was the terrific rush in either an OC-1 or ww-kayak for the springtime-for-life adrenalin & enjoyment! ..Bear in mind this was back in the mid-60s! Haven't returned since life + Lyme took me to the Boston and now Maine areas, but the ADKs are a terrific playground and various forms of PT are accomplishing many goals for enjoyment.
beautiful!!! the houses in the third picture are awesome
