    Heifer has never given birth.

FWIW- Tenderloins are still good out of a old beef cow. Grind the rest.

Yes, I know what a heifer is, my grandma had a dairy and I worked on dairies until I was 18. A heifer is a COW that hasn't given birth.

I was actually thinking about opening a high end butcher store.

Don't think it's anywhere near that high, but of the cattle related deaths the 70% figure would come close to applying to old timers 60+ age.

Well pretty much 100% of cattle deaths are due to agriculture.

    Vibes, Bobby. That's fucked up.

I wish I hadn't clicked on that "Cows with Guns" video - now that damn song is stuck in my head.

Maybe an old cow not so good for steak , but we bought some barren cows , Limousin with some short horn, they had some problems with birthing the first go around. Finished with some grain but only a few weeks and they were great. Very tender almost too much fat but I guess they had spent the whole summer eating for one rather than for two.

Sucks about my Dad because he really loved to bbq steak.
Funny you mention that place. I was thinking about it today. I will be making a run into town next Saturday when I'm out at the compound to stock up on those burgers.

What's the name of this place? Edit- I assume this is butcher onsite but not kills onsite? It would still have to go thru a USDA kill plant
