People who eat dairy weigh less and have less diabetes than those who don't.
Cheese is not healthy. Not really sure where your lack of nutritional knowledge comes from

Maybe the articles he posted with links to peer-reviewed studies that found better health outcomes in those consuming full-fat vs low/non-fat dairy products and interviews with the authors of said studies?

What he said. Those were the first two I dug up in a search.

Also this was referenced in a book I've used to guide my own eating:

Association between dairy food consumption and weight change over 9 years in 19 women.

"For whole milk and sour milk and cheese, the women with a constant intake of ≥1 serving/d during the follow-up period had a statistically significant lower risk of gaining ≥1 kg/y than did the women with a constant lower intake of these products."

Now we just need surplus wine, and surplus crackers. The government needs to disrupt those supply/demand balances.

^^^^ Huh? It says women who eat more than a serving a cheese/ day gained less weight than women who eat less than a serving. Go eat your cheese and be proud.

It confirms what you always knew to be true: Cheese is good for you.

So correlation. That eating cheese is healthy bc eating some cheese had better outcomes? So cheese is high in fat, salt, and calorically dense. There are people who that works just fine for in their diet..if they're already healthy.
Then you quote shit about milk and sour cream? That's not cheese. So..now I'm just confused.

Sure cheese has calcium and protein. Cheese is not a health food. If you are healthy, then cheese is neutral.

Protein and calcium come from healthier places.

I don't think surplus cheese is real cheese anyway, so those studies may not be applicable.

Uh, yeah. What were you expecting, a cure for cancer? It's not just one study that suggest this. See the articles linked earleir

So cheese is high in fat, salt, and calorically dense.
So what? A serving size is small and people who consume cheese gain less weight. The same is true for nuts, which are also high in fat. Fat is not bad we need fat. Cheese, it would seem, is a good source.

Then you quote shit about milk and sour cream? That's not cheese. So..now I'm just confused.
The study looks at Cheese, and milks with different amounts of fat. Low fat and skim milk seem to have less of an attenuating effect on weight gain. Don't ask me why.

You might be stuck in the 80's. Are you scared of egg yolks too?

First of all I am a PA
    Secondly I've studied nutrition
Thirdly, no I eat over a dozen whole eggs a week
    Fourthly. Cheese isn't health food.

Nuts have mono and polyunsaturated fats. Similar reasons why cold water fish omega 3 , olive and even the very specific fat of coconut oil is not dangerous in regular consumption.

Milk fat is animal fat-saturated. Pure saturated. It doesn't have the same benefits as the few others above. Better than trans fat though

Is it my imagination, or do lactose and gluten tend to cause the most arguments on TGR?

It is just that lactose and gluten intolerant people tend to be so crabby. The just need some cheese and crackers and they would mellow.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...
