The 22-23s are a whole lot of fun in soft snow, trees, and just charging around. There is a reason you don't often see them for sale.
The 19/20 (Mordor graphic) is unique--they lightened it up by switching the core from ash/poplar to beech/poplar, but I think the shape is the same as the OG. Thanks for the reply.

Here's a video that should dispel any doubt about charging on the lastest version:

Not really sure those conditions are an appropriate test for the dev lighter weight? They excel in 3D chop.

The link works. That guy skis like he has a gear trust fund.

Or- he skis like he’s 25 and doesn’t give a shit.

    Ask me how I judge.

That said- I don’t know if the vid is a testament to how rad the skis are or how homie could probably bounce 2x4s down a New Zealand face in October.

Yeah yeah point taken--hero corn straight lining does not a charger make. Check his gram tho, lots of comp charging on devs, sender frees, sender squads, mpros:

I think the new skis drop in August. Do yourself a favor and get a pair.

Forgot about this thread--thanks for the bump. Bringing my post over from the renegade thread.

4frnt is dropping 40 pairs of a 194 Devestator tomorrow @ 11am MST. I got all excited thinking it was the old layup, specs appear to be a stretched version of the current layup:

I think the "forum crusaders" really wanted the old layup, not just the length... but it's still cool that 4frnt is doing these limited runs like this one and the pils hoji last year for their core fans.

I just chatted with them and 2100g is right. Man that's disappointing.

    Perhaps Heritage Lab FR110?
    More rocker than the Dev?
My 186 weighs in at 2400g; and it is a long 186.
    Stoked to try them out

    They also come in 193s.

I'm almost unbiased here, but not quite..

    That said:

What he said! Weight is good, shape is good, I reckon the 193.5 FR110/ le sick will be better.

Yeah no doubt those HL sticks are going to be great. I meant disappointing to Dev fans, why make a big lightweight ski in a 194 with a 21.5mr like that at but 2100g for inbounds at all I guess.

but the dev is a resort ski...so that's exactly what it's made for. Also my 86's from last season weigh in at 2055g so i doubt that this 194 is gonna weight only 2100g? I just ordered up a pair, very stoked to have this thing back in beast mode length. Im not going to make a fuss over ~200g like some folks on here ♂️ just excited to have a decent weight on a great length

I think you’re missing the point. Old school 194 dev was like 2500g or more, so when they say they are making these to please the forum warrior crowd it doesn’t make a lot of sense when the weight is still so low (comparatively). And as a resort-only ski, why not add some heft to make them charge like the used to? The downsides are minimal

Here are the specs for my 194’s

    4frnt devestator 194 2018
    142/111/137 R25m
    Castle 2690g
    Other 2661g

its a burly ski. I have the 184’s from 2017 and it is a night and day difference between the two. The core is much thicker, the weight is much heavier and they are much stiffer. Cool that 4frnt is doing a limited drop but it’s not the old 194.
