Is the 4FRNT Devastator the new and improved Rossignol Sickle?

I picked up a pair of 179s new in February. I thought they would be a little short but I like them in that length. I also have the 19-20 in 184 and I like them a lot. The 22-23s are a whole lot of fun in soft snow, trees, and just charging around. There is a reason you don't often see them for sale.

The 19/20 (Mordor graphic) is unique--they lightened it up by switching the core from ash/poplar to beech/poplar, but I think the shape is the same as the OG. Thanks for the reply.

Not really sure those conditions are an appropriate test for the dev lighter weight? They excel in 3D chop.

4frnt is dropping 40 pairs of a 194 Devestator tomorrow @ 11am MST. I got all excited thinking it was the old layup, specs appear to be a stretched version of the current layup:

I think the "forum crusaders" really wanted the old layup, not just the length... but it's still cool that 4frnt is doing these limited runs like this one and the pils hoji last year for their core fans.

Yeah no doubt those HL sticks are going to be great. I meant disappointing to Dev fans, why make a big lightweight ski in a 194 with a 21.5mr like that at but 2100g for inbounds at all I guess.

but the dev is a resort ski...so that's exactly what it's made for. Also my 86's from last season weigh in at 2055g so i doubt that this 194 is gonna weight only 2100g? I just ordered up a pair, very stoked to have this thing back in beast mode length. Im not going to make a fuss over ~200g like some folks on here ��♂️ just excited to have a decent weight on a great length

I think you’re missing the point. Old school 194 dev was like 2500g or more, so when they say they are making these to please the forum warrior crowd it doesn’t make a lot of sense when the weight is still so low (comparatively). And as a resort-only ski, why not add some heft to make them charge like the used to? The downsides are minimal

its a burly ski. I have the 184’s from 2017 and it is a night and day difference between the two. The core is much thicker, the weight is much heavier and they are much stiffer. Cool that 4frnt is doing a limited drop but it’s not the old 194.
