Can't speak on the tours but my stock layup 187 110s are some of the best skis I've owned. Good chance I'll custom some 108 tours or 50/50s when the BG's go up on the builder.

After 2 days on the Jeffery 118 I have to say I’m in love with it. That ski is so damn dialed.

Now to see if Iggy will make a heavier 108. Anyone ever asked for a heavier ski?

When I asked about a heavier Jeffrey 108, Iggy said to put that in the "notes" section and they'll dig through the pile to look for a heavier core

It's an inbounds ski, so heavier is my preference

    Preach!!

You and I have already spoke about this but the 118 might be my favorite pow ski I’ve ever been on

I think I’ll have a hard time now grabbing in when I see ANY new snow in the forecast.

Did you end up grabbing another pair of 186? Excited to get out on mine when things start getting filled in.

i really liked the chargey damp nature of the ski while it still retained some pop and playfulness. i'm definitely a directional fall-line type of skier.
They dont have the same edge feel unfortunately, you’re probably look more at a cochise or maybe Marshals FL105

Yup! Snagged a lightly used pair from another mag. Mounted OTL. You’ll love em.

I love the 181cm BMX105 HP and the 179cm Wren 102Ti. The 105 skis a bit more locked in whereas the Wren is a bit easier to scrub speed and has a tad more pop. They both crave speed and equally happy at full charge. They speak to the same style.

My guess is the 108Ti and 110s will feel like a larger rig despite just talking 3-5mm underfoot. If a bigger ride is desired I “sense” the 110 is a killer ski. I just can’t do 186cm in my geography or at my age.

I skied 184cm Lotus 120s and 183cm Stockli Stormrider 110 TT here in the east today. Loved them both as other chargey frames of reference. They both ski more like a 180cm (rocker and mount point respectively) whereas my thinking is the 186cm Wren 110 skis more like a 188+

I probably would have bought a pair if they were when the custom sale was going on

Waiting on the molds... theyll be in builder next month I believe. Stock builds will be ship ready as well then. Billy Goat is not going away.

FYI, but the 110 Pro is lower rocker than 108 and 102, and is basically the Wren 112, slightly narrower, from back 7-8 years ago. CHARGE.

Anyone have or spend time on a Jeff/Kartel 96? Im debating going 96-108-118 or a 102-118 rotation. The 118 is surprisingly versatile from what I have experiences so far. Never thought I would like such a freestyle shape so much but it really allows me to ski more relaxed which helps my back out a ton. I'm sure the dampness of the core helps as well.

I've owned all 3 but never been on a bmx105. From what I've read about that ski I'd guess the 110 Pro is the closest. I love that ski and probably spend 25+ days on it each season (far more than any other skis in my quiver). The 110 has way more edge hold and a much larger radius than the 102 & 108. I found that 102 & 108 wanted to turn too much and were too slarvy for my style. The 110 is one of the most damp skis I've been on and is still a lot of fun on hard pack. The most similar of my skis to this one is actually the Mantra 102 for how accessible and responsive it is but also being really damp.

If the snow is deeper, the 110 will plane up but needs a bit of speed. The 108 is significantly better in deeper days. It floats better at lower speed and the more rocker makes it a lot easier to turn. But it gives up a hard snow performance as a trade off. For me, the 110 pro is a much better daily driver. The only time I find the Wren Pro out of place is when in somewhere really tight and we get a lot of really wet heavy manky snow. (On those days, only a full rocker ski feels ok.)

I can't compare the Wren Pro to the BMX, but I can give a comparison to similar skis in the quiver:
    • Mantra 102: Probably the most similar, but obviously narrower and the better carver
    • Katana 108: The Wren Pro 110 is what I wanted the Katana to be. Tips of this feel too big. They make it heavy and slow to turn but also feels too optimized to be an on piste ski vs something more comfortable off piste.
    • Mindbender 108: The tips of the MB108 were too soft. When I attack crud they fold up. The Wren Pro blasts through chop. I also like the longer radius of the Wren Pro better.
    • V-Werks Katana 112: Way lighter and fully reverse camber so very different feel, but floats significantly better then Wren Pro and Wren 108. Both Wrens have a higher speed limit, especially through chop and crud.

Coming soon: Heritage Labs FR110 & FL105. I'll post an update when I get some time on those.

Great description SkiJitsu, I really appreciate that. I've spent a lot of time on M102s, MB108s, a good amount of time on Wren 108s, and a little bit of time on Wren 108Tis. But my 110 Pros have been sitting in the wrapper since buying them this summer. I like what I hear so I'll mount those up soon.

I have the Jeffrey 116s and have always loved them. I also have the 96s and I'm surprised at how they can hand slush but, admittedly, if I were you I'd probably stick to the 102-118 rotation because neither is going to be an icy carver. I have a Wren 102Ti and I don't find that width at all troublesome, can easily see the 118s in anything soft (even an inch, the 116s are super easy to ski even on hardpack) and then the 102s for any other day. Neither is going to do ice, but I have an old pair of Brahma 88s for that.

Love to hear this. If it hasn’t snowed in some time I’ll end up on the Mirus Cor. Which is a shitload of fun in that element. I tend to dial things back a good bit when it’s firm.

    Nice write up!

Always wanted to try the Wren 110 Pro, but 186cm is kind if short for me in this kind of ski (Daily driver lately has been 191 Katana 108) If there was a 190-192 I’d buy right now.

On another note, I can’t stop thinking about some used Woodsman 116s near me

Remember, ON3P measures post-press length. I'd bet the 186cm Wren 110 Pro is only a cm shorter than a Katana 191.

    I think my 191 Katanas measure 190.2cm

I’ve had a bunch of 186 On3ps before, directional and progressive ones. Always long enough, but I prefer my directional skis even longer if I’m spending decent $. I’d buy the 186 used for cheap for sure, I found a set last year on KSL I shoulda snagged.

I had some one off 192 Wren 115 comp things before that I loved. I think the Wren 110 Pro in 191 would be a better version of that ski.

Oh I see. I'm surprised that Katana measures so close to stated.

I agree on a sizing front. I feel like just a touch longer would be a great ski for larger folks.

FWIW I used to ski katanas a lot back in the day in the 191. Seriously feel the 110 Wren Pro (or when I had them they were 112) in 186 skis more like a Volkl 189-190. The older 191 Wrens were a shit ton of ski.

Have BG 118's in 191cm. I think I mounted slightly too far back. Where do folks recommend to mount? Also, got Look Pivots on there, how far away do new holes have to be? Thanks
