    Aussie Open 16

    Predictions? Dark horses?

Nadal's body is kinda busted and his "coach" doesn't seem to want to admit it and help him evolve.

Fed hasn't even seen a break point yet and is moving well. How I don't know.

Serena is rolling but we can be certain of one thing - if she loses, she'll whine about how she played poorly rather than admit her opponent played well.

Berdych playing well but super tough draw with Kyrgios and Fed in his draw.

    Love the Wawrinka backie.

    Djok, Murray always strong.

To be fair, Serena is so far above her competition skills-wise that if she loses it's only slightly because her opponent played well, but mainly because she blew it.

I'm with you CL on all points.
As dominant as Serena has been I find her attitude to be equally as appalling.

I recall years ago thinking Rafa's knees wouldn't let him play much more, even less that he would accomplish all he has. But he developed a monster serve and got healthy. While I suspect this is the death throes of his career I would sure love to see him make one more good run this season.

Fed - there are no words.

The "scandal" sure is interesting with the match fixing allegations, let's hear some names already.

True but what's true and what's sportsman-like are two separate things. Her comments after last years defeat to Vinci sealed it for me. She has so many opportunities to be gracious.

Edit: I take that back. It was sealed years ago and solidified when she told a line judge she'd shove a ball down her throat.

Pretty sure that if it was a popularity contest instead of an athletic competition her record would be far different. Being "nice" is secondary in sports.

We probably don't disagree on anything. I just think she's a dick.

Many professional athletes are both good and not dickish. It's not horribly difficult to pull off.

Let's not forget that the ball-throat-fucking-stuffing tirade you fellas bring up with Serena resulted in a point penalty in the third set of the US Open final setting up match point which allowed her to lose to 90 year old Kim Cjlisters.
    Who does that?

    Class out the wazoo.

Djoker into the quarters on an ugly 5 setter that saw him make 100 ue's. Said it can't get any worse than this.

I'm kinda liking Fed at this point, just doing work like he always does.

Some great matches coming up. Nishikori is so methodical and consistent it will be fun to see him against Djok. I like the Fed v Berdych match but wish Berdych didn't leave so much on the court yesterday. Raonic v Stan will rule, Monfils always fun to watch, still an American in there who will run into the Murray buzzsaw potentially but Tomic is no push over if he hasn't been out late being a doucherag the night before.

    Fed Murray final

Man, I was hoping Sharapova could put a match together here but Serena is just way too physical. Her ground game is better than a lot on the mens' side of the draw. Crazy good return and lots of winners.

She's still not likable though, amazing as she may be.

Fed seemed oddly at ease and jovial. I have a feeling that the man behind the man is actually fun to hang out with, he's just too professional to let it creep in most of the time. Anyone that hangs with Tiger on the weekends doesnt mind a little snizsniffing and a few cocktails.

Alright, Djoker-Fed! Tied at 22 wins each lifetime head-to-head.

I wish this was actually the final cause even if the winner goes on to face Murray I don't think the same excitement will be there.

I'm pulling for a Fed win, because I want to see one more major out of the guy. That and he seems to be really having fun playing these days. Nothing personal Djoker, you've got a lot of tennis left in you.

Now, 3:30am ET match time. Yeah, I'll try and catch it during morning coffee.

SPOILER ALERT for those of you watching on DVR.

Murray in a 5 setter to reach final against Djoker. I think with how Novak took apart Fed and how gassed Murray will be this one will be all Djokovic. Should be a good one none the less.
