Sorry it took me so long to reply (she says between bites of her third piece of sourdough toast)

Well, an unmotivated Friday afternoon but a conf call scheduled for 3:30, resulting in me reading the whole damned thread this afternoon, and I'm in.
I've baked for a few years, but haven't given sourdough a whirl yet, but, thanks largely to KQ's pimpin', I just ordered the KA starter set. It's hot and humid here about 5 months a year, so I'm holding off on the proofamajigger for the time being.
Crumb pics to follow in a couple or weeks. In the meantime, here's some non-sourdough entries.![]()
by the way, I didn't see any mention of the book that got me started--Flour, Salt, Water and Yeast. All recipes are designed for baking in a cast iron dutch oven.
ordering that book
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
My wife's been having fun with sourdough for a while now. My favorite is when she uses butterfly pea flower and makes it blue.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

A while back I dyslexia'd this thread into "breaking bread" and can't unsee it. God dammit.
The bread does look tasty though.

I found gluten free sourdough at whole foods tonite. On my fourth slice...so yummay.
Physically, she's fine. Mentally, she's been driving me nutz.
Yeah, they will do that.
Congrats on multiple slices

SB go to morning sammitch is now two slabs of sour dough, fried egg, cheese(currently on a provolone binge), prosciutto ham slices and light mayo. Sometimes a smear of basil pesto. Also the Toasted Cheese sammies are sporting SD these days.
