Just got my first package from Amazon

Now I can hate Amazon even more than I hated Amazon before I bought anything from them. Instead of the Willow Ware set and Silver Celtic pendant that I ordered for the Mrs. UPS delivered 2 pairs of $1.05 mfg cost earrings. Merry Christmas honey. I hope she is overwhelmed with the Dynafit beanie I got for her at the local ski shop.

    What's your Christmas Story?

I'm sitting in DIA, awaiting a 1:45am flight. And all the fucking bars are closed.

Not nearly as bad as yours. But alcohol is as important as earrings over the holidays.

HAHA! My daughter in law had to make the choice between a 3 hour I-90 wait with 2 kids or crashing at our place to wait it out. I asked her if she had to flip a coin and she smiled at me. 2nd or 3rd day without power up there.

I feel your pain. Not to worry, this aint my first rodeo. For our 1st Christmas she bought me cool boots and when I opened the box on Christmas morning it had a pair of boots OK but they were two left boots. I gave her a robe that was 2 sizes too small but as I recall it seemed to work.

I bet that was an Amazon Marketplace item and not Amazon or Amazon fulfillment. It's like blaming eBay for a bad seller.

I have ordered a fair amount of things from Blamazon, sometimes its hard to tell from who and where the item is coming. Seems a lot of their shit comes out of China any moar. Slow boat as they say.

I am sure your Xmas will be good in spite of the package mix up.

    Cheers

My Amazon Xmas story has a happy ending. I ordered a fancy dynamo-powered bicycle headlight for Honey, who is into the randonneuring ride thru the night thing. Package arrived ahead of scheduled, everything to spec. Gave it to her last night and she is delighted.

    Merry Xmas, haters

Wouldn't a battery-powered light be lighter, brighter, last all night and not be a life-force-sucking drag like a dynamo?

    Just wondering.

    Merry Christmas!

Has anyone ever been on the good end of an Amazon mix up, received a $100 item instead of a $10 item? I've yet to hear of one, it's always the opposite version.

I was kinda, they sent me this ginormous Lodge cast iron frying pan when I had ordered an air mattress. Seriously it's the biggest frying pan I've ever seen, weighs like 20 pounds. When I called them they said it's too expensive to ship back so keep it and we'll just send out the air mattress. and they did.

I've gotten weird packages of random stuff before. Nobody in my house ordered. They didn't want them back. Never got a wrong item before.

Orderd $20 worth of razor blades and got a case of Prilosec. That's a few hundred dollars worth of product I have no use for.

Expires in 2017. Maybe I'll have heartburn then.

Coworker complained to Amazon yesterday that one item out of 10 in the box they shipped had escaped out a hole. They reimbursed the whole order. I heart Amazon Prime.

No, no and no. The most efficient dynohub (e.g., SOM, Shutter Precision) drag is negligible with an LED headlight. Standard Dynohub max output is 3 watts (0.004 horsepower) but you never get anywhere near max draw with an LED headlight, which will draw around 1 watt max, i.e., <0.0014 horsepower, which is not noticeable. Her new light, Supernova E3 Pro2, is as bright as a road bike headlight can get without blinding oncoming traffic. (Supernova makes a MTB light that is brighter for trail use, but it's too bright for road use.) "All night" is not enough. Some randonneuring events go for 3+ days/nights. Dynohubs are standard equipment for serious randonneurs, e.g., Paris-Brest-Paris, and for good reason. ETA: There are also dynohub-powered USB chargers.

That's happened to us. We have some lovely throw pillows that some lady in Florida ordered. Had nothing to do with anything we ordered.

I ordered a used CX bike from Marketplace and got a mountain bike. They sent a brand new bike for my troubles. I did have to send the Mtn bike back, though.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Do you have it mounted on the wall like a trophy?

Or are you able to use cast iron now?
