Just got my first package from Amazon

Instead of the Willow Ware set and Silver Celtic pendant that I ordered for the Mrs. UPS delivered 2 pairs of $1.05 mfg cost earrings. Merry Christmas honey. I hope she is overwhelmed with the Dynafit beanie I got for her at the local ski shop.

I feel your pain. Not to worry, this aint my first rodeo. For our 1st Christmas she bought me cool boots and when I opened the box on Christmas morning it had a pair of boots OK but they were two left boots. I gave her a robe that was 2 sizes too small but as I recall it seemed to work.

I have ordered a fair amount of things from Blamazon, sometimes its hard to tell from who and where the item is coming. Seems a lot of their shit comes out of China any moar. Slow boat as they say.

My Amazon Xmas story has a happy ending. I ordered a fancy dynamo-powered bicycle headlight for Honey, who is into the randonneuring ride thru the night thing. Package arrived ahead of scheduled, everything to spec. Gave it to her last night and she is delighted.

Has anyone ever been on the good end of an Amazon mix up, received a $100 item instead of a $10 item? I've yet to hear of one, it's always the opposite version.

I was kinda, they sent me this ginormous Lodge cast iron frying pan when I had ordered an air mattress. Seriously it's the biggest frying pan I've ever seen, weighs like 20 pounds. When I called them they said it's too expensive to ship back so keep it and we'll just send out the air mattress. and they did.

No, no and no. The most efficient dynohub (e.g., SOM, Shutter Precision) drag is negligible with an LED headlight. Standard Dynohub max output is 3 watts (0.004 horsepower) but you never get anywhere near max draw with an LED headlight, which will draw around 1 watt max, i.e., <0.0014 horsepower, which is not noticeable. Her new light, Supernova E3 Pro2, is as bright as a road bike headlight can get without blinding oncoming traffic. (Supernova makes a MTB light that is brighter for trail use, but it's too bright for road use.) "All night" is not enough. Some randonneuring events go for 3+ days/nights. Dynohubs are standard equipment for serious randonneurs, e.g., Paris-Brest-Paris, and for good reason. ETA: There are also dynohub-powered USB chargers.
