    They're ambidextrous, you just have to make sure you buy your Cavendish bananas with a counter-clockwise bend. And plantains are right out.

    Gas range, for sure, but get a good toaster oven on the side, too. You can do a lot inside that thing (mine's a Cuisinart big enough to do a whole chicken), and they are much more efficient than the large oven.
